NFS Heat up/down arrows do work for menus

I just downloaded NFS Heat through Steam. When I try to access `Settings` on the main page I am unable to get to it with the up and down arrows. Also does not work for other menus such as exit. Left ...

    open the game up, disconnect the power cable from the thrustmaster, then connect it again and itll start working
