NFS hot pursuit remastered cross play

Hello, so I, an Xbox One user, have been trying to join my friends on NFS: Hot Pursuit Remastered, they use PC's to play the game. For whatever reason I cannot add my friends via the game and they cannot add me via the game either. Whenever I try to add them via their EA username without adding the HP-  I get the message "The EA ID entered was not found. Please try again." When I do add in the HP- I get the message "Players on the same platform as you cannot be added to your EA Friends List." I have already downloaded the EA App and accepted their friend requests via there, however when I load up the game it still says I have no friends online. I have already checked my online privacy settings for my EA account and nothings restricted, and I have not been able to receive any invites from them to matches either. Is there a way to fix this, either an update or setting?

Hi @MW-Plb932 To confirm you should be able to play Cross-Play with other platforms. Are we seeing an issue?

To confirm if you go to the social tab of NFS HPR, do you not see them listed under "EA Friends" after you added them?

By chance do they see you? 

Yes, I cannot see them in the EA friends lists or any requests they send and vice versa.

No, I only have an adult account on EA.
