NFS Payback: Lag And Stuttering (PC)

Ever since I have bought the game I have been experiencing constant lag and stuttering even while using the low graphics preset. I don't think this is a problem with the components in my PC because they should be able to handle low graphics. The problem gets worse during night time, where I only get 25 fps most of the time. I've tried turning on v-sync, limiting the fps using RivaTuner, messing around with Game Mode, repairing the game through Origin and changing options in Nvidia Control Panel as well as various other things. I have run out of ideas that could solve the issue so if anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500

GPU: GTX 1060 6GB

RAM: 8GB DDR4

SSD: Samsung 750 EVO 250GB (OS not installed on this drive)

OS: Windows 10 Home (Version 1803)

HI Maybe try this . Windows 10 autoupdates added gamebar which comes turned on by default . Disabling it may help

    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disable-and-remove-game-bar-windows-10-creators-update

Also check in GeForce Experience that shadowplay may also need to be disabled.

Both of those two things cause performance problems

and lastly check that your background process are at a minimum ,especially Antivirus programs can eat alot of memory and effect you.

Hope anything i mentioned can help .

    🙂

Thanks for the suggestions they have helped a lot with the lag. I also discovered that setting the game to high priority in the task manager helps a lot too if anyone is reading this for some solutions. The game isn't perfect yet but it's now running at playable speeds at all times.

  • THIS. I just installed Madden NFL 24 and the game would not load, crashed after the initial taskbar filled up. Turns out it was the gamebar that was the problem. Could be my processor had something to do with it, recommends i5-6700 but mine is an i5-6500. Either way, removing the gamebar allowed the game to start for me; thanks for the help!
