NFS: Payback(XBOX) Game fails to launch, returns to game hub.

We're having problems loading NFS: Payback on our Xbox. It worked perfectly fine last week, but on monday, for no apparent reason, we were unable to get past the launch screen.

Our problem seems the same as some other players, who have solved theirs,.. but ours isn't, so I'm opening this new one, hoping others with the same issue, who are still having trouble, can add their problem to this thread.

The loading screen comes up for a few seconds,.. there is no audible disc activity, and then it dumps me back to the home screen I launched it from.  I've made sure that the game has no needed updates, the XBOX 1 S has also been updated, and there are zero apps or games downloading or needing an update. The disk itself appears unblemished, and the xbox has no problem loading other games of mine. This problem was first noticed on Monday 

This is the wife's favorite game, and as my games work, she won't purchase Sims4 for our kid till she knows its not our Xbox thats broken in some way

Also, I am wary of uninstalling and re-installing as we have purchased content, and the wife is very scared that I'll lose them on her if I do this. The notable thing is that her account is where the DLC was paid for, and hers is the "controlling owner" account for the DLC
