I find a fix that will let you play online but this is not lifetime fix but just fast fix.
Go to Settings :> Network :> Advanced settings :> Choose ports and you need to do it 1-2 times or more,
I did like this and rivals was letting me play online with others players.
Issue is caused by Xbox ports in network settnings that will make nfs rivals freeze and crash due to something in last xbox updates. I cant tell why.
I readed that it works for some players and not work for some on xbox one.
Hard reset will not work to fix this issu, However, Reinstall your xbox one sofware (I mean CLEAN INSTALL) Could work but not sure.
Both Nfs rivals game server and xbox live server have nofing todo with this.
What i suggest to do is, Contact xbox support and ask them to foward this issue to Xbox team to check out and contact Ea support aswell.
The more players what is reporting this issue to Ea and xbox, the chance is bigger to get i resolved.
@DarkyHausSorry to tell you but your theory is wrong, the issue is with EA server not xbox updates or ports etc..., this has been confirm on the other post you also posted in, I suggest you read all the posts on https://answers.ea.com/t5/Need-for-Speed-Rivals/Need-for-speed-rivals-for-Xbox-one-keeps-freezing-at-loading/td-p/6887561/page/7 This is an issue that's been going on for almost 8 years now, and It took me months of research and testing with both EA and Microsoft to figure out that it was EA servers that is the issue. EA is aware of the issue, the game is too old they don't care about maintaining servers for an old game, just play offline like everyone else.
