nfs rivals origin overlay

Hi all,

just recently I bought Need for Speed  Rivals and started playing it without problems. Just last night I started having problems with the game. First, I was in a race when the game just froze. Then today I've been having sound problems where in the menus there's a stuttering background noise. In race mode the sound's fine. I've also checked other games (Sim City, Cities Skylines) but they still work just fine. Another problem I have is that when I'm racing and I open the menu (with the map), a message pops of saying:

"Origin In Game Overlay is disabled. Make sure it is enabled it and then restart the title."

First of all, the sentence doesn't even make sense, but apart from that, pressing enter closes the message and reopens it immediately. I can't do anything at all and am forced to close the game with more brutal methods.

It really sucks because I love the game but with this problem it's unplayable. If anyone has an idea what may be causing this, that would be great!
