NFS Rivals Xbox one Time Trials will not start
I just installed Rivals on a new Xbox One and I got through the beginning tutorial and after that the first set of missions by default are [Place bronze in any Time Trial] [Use a repair shop] [completely deplete nitrous]. OK so this seems easy to do however, when I arrive at a time trials on the road the arrows that appear on the ground to refer you in the right direction start to flash and a loud pulsing sound occurs. Sometimes a grey bar also pulses mid screen with the ground arrows, it seems like it repeatedly tries to load the accept button but cannot. I can keep driving around or past it and the pulsing stops but every time trial i attempt to race does the same thing. It never puts the course on the map for me to follow nor do I ever get to chose to accept the time trial to begin like I have seen others do in you tube videos. I have wiped the game from the hard drive and re-installed it but have not had the chance to try it again. I also do not know what it should look like when it works properly, so I am unsure if it is even corrupt or I am just such a noob at the game I am missing something lol. This is keeping me from moving forward in the game beyond the tutorial basically.
Well after a third attempt to install the game it worked, the method I chose this time was to turn off network connectivity and let it install from the disc only and finish. Then I connected it to the network and it hung up indefinately untill I restarted the xbox and then it said it had an update so I upated it. I have a 6 Mb connectionand after about 2.5 hours to complete everything up untill this point, I let it run all night and it was finished in the morning. It seems pretty rediculous that inserting a new game takes this long and it might become a deal breaker for me unfortunately. The game playes really awesome and has incredible graphics but doing this 3 times for one game is definately not cunsumer friendly. I just wanted to update my post on how I got it fixed.
