I bought this game via steam a couple of hours ago and it would not open so I ran it through origin and it worked with no problem. After a while of playing it, it would crash before starting a race in quick race and the same with some races in career.
I am running:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2 ghz
BIOSTAR A880GU3 AM3 Micro ATX
DIAMOND AMD Radeon™ HD 6870 1GB GDDR5
500 watt psu
8 gigs of Corsair XMS DDR3 RAM

DICE TeamThank you, @TipeXX3. I posted a small update to the weblink in the thread you linked.
One solution mentioned at steam forums is to disconnect your system from the internet. This is what I had to do to keep Shift 2 from crashing.
This means you can't race online, but if you just want to update your autolog info, or share replays, you can reconnect between races to update / share autolog type information.
