pause

Since you are basically always online together with other players, thanks to AllDrive, there is no pause functionality during races or while driving in the open world. The only way to pause the game is by entering a hideout or command post.

You can, however, play the game in offline mode completely, but you will probably miss out on a lot of fun created by all these random events when multiple players, racer and cops, are thrown together. 

I can't believe they didn't add a pause feature for those of us that play offline. I can't even play in offline mode because of the texture glitch that is being reported by many. I have a family, and if I am racing and need to pause for any reason, when I am NOT playing online, I should be able to do that. I heard from my phone conversation with EA that the Xbox One can "pause" the game by task switching and saving the game state. Please, please add a pause feature for offline gamers!

This thread needs more attention, I've read several forums of people online with the same issue. Not being able to pause a racing game where the cops could come at any moment and take all your speed points? Whose idea for design was that? Obviously no one who works at EA has children or a family. Offline Pause option is what we need, there's no reason why it shouldn't have it. Please more people that think this is rediculous post to this thread, it's the only way EA will fix anything, that's what they told me on the phone. Add a short response that you want something added, the more people the more EA will have to listen.

When we play an online game like CSS, LOL or any other game it's normal you can't pause, because there are other players with you. But when you play offline game, only you and the computer, why the hell we can't pause the game???!!!! thats so fuc....ing stupid, people like me with kids and wife, how we supose to do??

Let us pause the game in offline mode... like any other offline game in the world FFS!!

I get the idea, but it's quite annoying that you can't pause the game unless you're in a safe house. Why not just add a function to become "inactive"? If you're out in the line of sights from the cops, come to a complete stop and get the option to shut off the engine which would put you in an inactive mode where's you can't take damage, get busted or being pursued by the cops, that would help.

too many issues and glitches being released by such a main stream company.. its not like youre some shty startup wannabe  business, I'd like to think that EA has some people with some brains working for them... and wheres the FRIENDS BEAT YOUR RECORD/SPEEDWALL.... i dont want to drive across the whole damn map to CHECK that im still first, i want the game to TELL me that im not, on the MAP screen just like hot pursuit did.

pull your heads out of your a$$es and get this game some serious patches/updates. 

I cant play online as a cop, because everytime its got ANYONE else as the host, when they leave (probably to pause since its the only fkn way) all my SP goes with it... 

I fully agree with you.  While it appears to be the new norm for EA games (based on the current available lineup on Xbox One), I think this "feature" is unnecessary and  at times even unfair.  While it may serve a purpose in order to attempt to instill a "there are no pauses" mentality in gamers, the only people who will be able to tolerate this "feature" without it interrupting their current lives are gamers who aren't even old enough to play the games to begin with (Need For Speed Rivals exempted).  Despite the exemption, Need For Speed especially should be able to pause without affecting gameplay while in single-player; it's in single player mode for game's sakes!). 

I'm all for games growing up, but it's silly to expect a game marketed for "Everyone 10+" to have the same expectations as a game such as Titanfall which is marketed as "Mature" when it comes to being able to pause the game whether its that your spouse is calling or if your being yelled at to go do your homework.  However, I am pleased that I have been able to play Titanfall for so far up to an hour and not be asked to purchase something in order to make my game be a complete product, a la Need For Speed Most Wanted.  So overall, I suppose this is an improvement.
