PS+ / Gold Required?

Whenever I try to press Play, the game always prompts me to purchase PS+ and tells me that I cannot Play without it. I ignore this message by pressing Circle and then a message later appears saying that  I have lost connection to servers. It says in your FAQ the PS+ is NOT required but a stable connection is. I know for a fact that my internet is not the problem here because I am able to connect to Destiny Servers and log in to PSN no problem at all... I have no plans in buying PS+ just to play this game, especially when the developers said that it will NOT be required. Please let me know on how to get around this, as I have not been able to play this game since launch. It has been Three weeks since then!

    PS+ will be required for the multiplayer portion of the game. Play solo is available without PS+.

    I don't know if its wrking for you now but unfortunately from my understands you do need ps+/gold to play.... the game is "always online" meaning its always on multiplayer.. there. and of course to play multiplayer online you need to have ps+/gold. the curse of always being online....
