Radeon Settings Profile for NFS

Hey, I just bought Need for Speed for the PC last night and have started playing it.  I have AMD 8320, 16GB RAM & XFX R9 390X and I am finding the game is running at low frame rates on ultra settings (1080p).

Does anyone have a good profile setup for Radeon Settings to increase performance?  I know I could knock it down in the game to High but I find it hard to believe I can't pull decent framerate on Ultra with this card so I am hoping I can tweak it by overriding with Radeon Settings.

Any help appreciated.

  • Hi @PaladineUK

No one can give these settings, or just someone who has a PC identical in components to yours- I doubt about this thing.🤔

But these settings you can do yourself mate , with patience.😉

1.And beneath is the first step.

You need to run the game at the native resolution for the attached display. To do this, check the native resolution of the screen in PC settings:

-Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
-Tap or click PC and devices, then tap or click Display.
-Tap or click the resolution slider and drag it until you find the resolution marked(Recommended). This is your monitor's native resolution—usually the highest resolution your monitor can support.
    -Tap or click Apply.

Then make sure that the game settings are also set to run at the same resolution.

2.And it is the 2nd step as important as the first. You have to start with deactivation v-sync,buffering,antiallising...

Tipe and search "cnext" in your Windows bar.Now duble click  on AMD SETTINGS.

Now in the upper left corner on AMD RADEON SETTINGS you will see ,,Gaming'' press on it.

In the upper right corner you'll see,, Add' -'click / -select ,,Browse'' and choose a game to Add - Need For Speed

Now you see your game Need For Speed in RADEON SETTINGS, presses the 3 points next to Need For Speed and select PLAY  - you can start the game from there.

<<<<<All from there you can change your video settings for Need For Speed.>>>>>

3.And 3rd step is random,if this setting give any result is good, if not  then uncheck this.

Go in Origin /  My Games-right click on the game icon select Game Properties, and tick disable Origin In Game .

  • Thanks for your response but really it is not such a big chance that other people are not running the same graphics card as me - the R9 390X is a very popular card and I would actually be surprised if there are not lots of people running this card.

With regards to step 1, of course I am running at the native resolution and I have the settings on for native resolution too.

I have to have vsync enabled - I get horrible tearing without it.

Thanks again for your response but it doesn't really help me in any way - there are a lot of settings and I don't want to have to go through and check the many thousands of combinations which is why I asked if anyone has a good settings profile already.
