Re: Blurry and Grainy screen in Need For Speed 2016

OK @rec0nnaissance 🤔

Finding video devices and updating video drivers on your PC http://help.ea.com/en/article/finding-devices-and-updating-drivers/

You need to setting up a graphics card gaming profilehttps://help.ea.com/en/article/setting-up-a-graphics-card-gaming-profile/

These steps are for players with AMD or NVIDIA graphics cards only. If you have a different graphics card manufacturer, check their official website for a similar solution.

NOTE maybe helps you- go in Origin /  My Games-right click on the game icon select Game Properties, and tick disable Origin In Game ,

@yahel_1 Updated everything with no results, still blurry. Perhaps its the xbox one remains? Another thing that I find odd is that the pause menu is HD just like the actual game screenshots, so that may indicate that its the problem with the game's TAA ?

Disabling the in-game origin didn't help too

    @rec0nnaissance i forgot to tell you 😳 this...sorry mate.

Once you've finished to do the steps above go in your Origin client, right clicking on game icon NFS select Repair Game and Check for Updates.

@yahel_1 Thx for all the patience on answering but sadly neither did that work. I guess I'll wait for the next patch because it seems that the default Anti-Aliasing has a problem.. But thx for trying to help

Okay here is what i found:

    Go to C/users/your username here/Documents/Need for Speed/settings

Then open PROFILEOPTIONS_profile with some text editor and find GstRender.FilmGrain and change the value from 1 to 0

Game is grainy because of the Film Grain Filter used over the game to make it look bad. Thanks for that info DegeShaTko, im gonna try to see if it works for me

And it's blurry becasue of the Antialiasing, if you use TXA it's 'smudgy', FXAA looks liek *, and without looks a worse.

It's game related, not hardware/software issue

i may found the perfect solution its definatly works and the game looks amazing try this out. Command line argument: -Render.ResolutionScale X.X (Replace X.X with a number like 1.3, 1.4, 1.5. Max is 2.0) this really downs the fps so watch out dont go crazy...

  • This game have serious issues with aa mode

First off TAA looks so damn blurry even on 1440p and colors looks so washed that i cant make a difference between red and orange the almost look the same

And second even with FXAA game looks lil better and sharpy but damn with these jaggies they are every where

First pic with TAA whatever that aa means so damn blurry

Second Pic FXAA you can see the jaggies in ten feet the white mark lines of the road

Yeah the TXAA version is what the console versions look like. Which is why I was hoping the pc version would look better. But nope they went with the same antialiasing as the consoles. And plus no option to remove the film grain as well. I'm hoping with future patches they will add more options to tweak the graphics.

    OK @rec0nnaissance

Other tip: For a better image quality, you can disable the film grain, go to my documents, need for speed, settings, open PROFILEOPTIONS_profile and change GstRender.FilmGrain 1 to GstRender.FilmGrain 0

Try this and Please 😕 give me an answer, mate.

I tried the TXAA preset that was posted here, game really really looks good with it. But I noticed the post with the link was taken down, why was that? Was something wrong with it? I played for about a hour and haven't had any problem so far.

@yahel_1 Well it did work and removed the grainy effect but the game is still blurry. Thx for the help on removing the grainy effect though

Well as long as you have the choice of only FXAA or TXAA you're going to get the blurring, there's just no way around it. Your only option is to turn off antialiasing completely and just deal with the jaggies.

Hey I think it looks really good. I think anyone should try it and switch it on and off in game and see the difference.
