Re: CLASSIC SUPERSPORT CARS

Hi Helgihein!

My point of of view is at the opposite. No more super/hyper cars in this game, even classics.

And if it was possible, I would say I'm in favor of complete removal of those cars already in game.

NFS is about illegal street racing. GT cars are ok, super cars are not.

But, hey, just my opinion, don't throw me rotten tomatoes.

@Sly_Indasky nah, it's fine. But illegal racing had some supersports in it. Maybe you are familiar with the history of the Mid Night Club, one of the most infamous illegal racing club in Japan.

One of its members had a heavily modified Porsche 911 Turbo. Rumors are saying that he spent a fortune to do that. That is one known case, but i wouldn't be surprised if there are others. The Club used mostly street cars and some GT cars, following the rule. The Club was active for around 12 years and the police wasn't able to catch them. The club was disbanded after they had a close encounter with the bosozoku (japanese biker gangs) that put in danger not only the club members, but the bystanders, too. As the Club policy was to not involve civilians, its members agreed to disband. It was one of the most popular illegal racing group in Japan and one of the most influential in the scene. Most of its members were people that could afford to pay those heavy modifications, but clearly, all of them were quite the drivers. Going through the Shuto Expressway with speeds over 300km/h (the expressway can be very crowded, even late in the night) suggest that they were indeed great drivers.

The Midnight Club racing series from Rockstar used the name of the club as an hommage to the members.

The rivalry between the Porsche owner and the owner of the Nissan S30 (Fairlady Z or Datsun 240Z) spawned a manga, an anime and a live action series (Wangan Midnight). The manga writer seem to actually have a really good knowledge of the cars and of the Club's history.

@HELGIHEIN like this list, too. Yeah, we can dream, but someone stated, the possibility to see new cars is kind of limited. First it requires for Payback to do well in sales, so we could see some car packs, like we had in Most Wanted 2012 and Rivals. Second, it requires EA to be able to secure the licenses for being able to put the cars in the game. As EA is neither Sony, nor MS, the chances are considerably lower. But if a company like Kunos Simulazioni (Asseto Corsa) or like Slighty Mad Studios can get the license for more cars, EA should be able to do it, too. In the end, everything depends of the Payback sales. And i kind of doubt that it did well enough to see further investment. But one can hope.

While i like the open world from the campaign, i think they could have populated it better, not with collectibles, but with various types of races. And i am no big fan of the upgrade system either. It's a novelty idea, but i don't think that fits a racing game. Because everyone loves to actually tinker with their car. For me the best upgrade system was in NFS Underground 2. Not only you could buy parts, but you could tweak some variables in a way that a car would act better, even without upgrades.
