even arcade takes time to dial in as each one is different

My best was with NFSUG2 with FWD/AWD cars (I did try RWD mustang once and got more points, but I had to do a lot more control and stuff to not spin out)

In payback and 2015 (except I had more trouble in the straights in 2015 with a drift build) I could easily 2x the drift targets in things like skills and such, but it's a bit harder here in Heat without the speed boost

for example, in my 180SX (Zero/stock stance) with a McLaren 3.8L V8 swap, maxed with screw supercharger, offroad tires, speedcross suspension, and offroad diff (works best for me for drifting) my best not-really-trying-too-hard 'pass' and not good fps/keyboard, I got 128k in the drift zone inside the oval raceway.

But I did have to use a lot of the track between the checkpoints to get there (thankfully, the game is more lenient than payback in terms of you not sticking to the 'route')

It took a lot less in Shift 2 Unleashed setupwise to drift like a king for me, just an E30 with a BMW M5/6 V10 swapped and nothing else done to the car. All I had to do was dial it (my control with throttle and steer, etc) in and drifts rolled in like mad.

But in an environment such as this (open world street racing), I tend to lean towards as little throttle control as possible (as in, I shouldn't have to do it to not make the car spin out, but just to increase or decrease the angle and whatnot) and just stay pinned while sliding which is less effort and more fun

That's drift only though. And with the handling thingo opened up like this, it's probably had to get the right balance

😃 Is it an arcade or a simulator?

Just because a racing game is not a simulator doesn't mean it's without mechanics...Just different ones. 😉
