If you are on pc go here

C:\Users\*your user*\Documents\Need for Speed(TM) Payback\

rename the folder savegame to old or something (this way you can go back if you want)

start payback and if you want to play your old save again rename the new save to savegame_new and old save to savegame

also make sure cloud saving is disabled
