The only way I can think of is to purchase the car at the dealership. Once you have discovered an abandoned car you can usually buy them back and should show in the dealership.

No you can't buy it at the dealer for sure.
Did you check if it is on the location as abandoned car again?
That would be the only way as far as I know.
Or you have to wait till the rotation from the abandoned cars start again.
