Re: Progress not saving

Before I begin I have the xb1 version. Is someone with the other versions could test this as well for me please? This method worked 100% of the time for me no matter how I tried getting it NOT to save to get it tested, and my friend.

To save, switch factions.

That's it! In your hideout or outpost(depending on your current faction) just switch careers!

Test method(only consistant factor): gain a level, switch careers, then start a different game then return to nfs.

I always did random stuff as try offline, or not signed in to live but connected, or even unplugging system as randomization factors. Always had above consistant factor.

I would raise one level, switch factions and tbhen switch back. This always got it to save. The usual suspect for loosing my data was switching ames(always deleted) and turnin the system off. 21/21 levels were kept using the above method

As stated worked for me 100% of the time for me and my friend, but someone has stated it didn't work. Still going from 0% to100%, were on the right track. Hopefully we can figure out all variables, and ill try testing any other conditions I can think of.

Keep not I have the xb1 version and on private session. Maybe that helps.

If others could try different thingss but always switching factions maybe we can narrow it down. Ivetold ea so hopefully they'll test it out as well.

I finally got mine to ave 100%, so let's try getting everything solved so we can keep out data.

Note: edited to make more clear.

I will have to check this out. I think it's "too easy".

I lost hours worth of data about 5 times and was about to return it, raised 1 level, switched careers for 20 minutes switched games real quick and came back. The 20 minutes were lost(go figure) but the 1 level I gained was SAVED! I tested this every way I could think of. I raised a level, switched careers(aka saved) started up another game(usual suspect for loosing data for me) then came back. I even switched disc based games. Every time it was where it was, I finally kept my data. My game never saved until now for 2 weeks.

Already contacted EA about this after testing for better part of an hour. Hopefully word gets out, and hopefully works for all.

That's right this could force the autosave or you can also switch car.

Tested on X1 and I can verify for my part that this does NOT work.

    • I completed the tutorial
    • gained several levels
    • Switched cop cars several times
    • Then switched to racer
    • Gained a few more levels
    • Turned off xbox
    • Next day: everything reset to zero. Had to complete the tutorial all over. No progress.

Weird that it didn't work for you because that's the exact thing happeneing to me until I figured out switching factions. I am in a private game, not public so maybe that effects it? Ill try testing more things and workarounds. Spent 2 hours testing it in variety of way before I poste. This and every thing I tested still got saved no matter what I tried to get it to revert back.

Switching cars never fixed it though.

This. It's already been confirmed that private or solo games don't have the issue. But when playing online public multiplayer (the main selling point of the game) progress gets lost regularly.

I have always been in a solo private game and it always lost my data though.

Apparently it is a corrupted cloud save that is causing these issues (which explains why not everyone who owns the game gets the glitch). For those that are still having issues try following these steps to make a new cloud save. I've done them and been playing for a week now without any losses in rank. (And I've been quitting the game out completely each time I'm done playing)

Step 1: Uninstall the game and reinstall to 100% WITHOUT going into game. (This is done by going into "My games and apps", highlighting NFS: Rivals and clicking the start/menu button on controller and choosing "uninstall", then choose "install disc" to reinstall) REMEMBER: wait till game is 100% installed
Step 2: Turn off Xbox One completely (not quick restart) or unplug the console to make sure
Step 3: Unplug / switch off your router, making sure your Xbox has no access to internet now. (Disconnect wireless from Xbox network settings if you don't have access to your router)
    Step 4: Turn on console
Step 5: Insert disc or select NFS Rivals ensuring it is a fresh load-up (not resumed)
Step 6: Play Racer and Cop Career offline for 2 levels
Step 7: Return to hideout / command post (this will create a save file on your Xbox rather than in the cloud and then this save file will overwrite your corrupted cloud file when we reconnect Xbox to internet)
Step 8: Close the game and Quit. Load different game or take out game disc to make sure NFS is fully shutdown
Step 9: Re-insert NFS Rivals disc and load up again to check progress has saved
Step 10: Turn Xbox completely off and reconnect router/internet
Step 11: Switch console on and load NFS back up and sign into Origin
Step 12: Enjoy the game and always make sure to enter hideout/command post before exiting game or switching to different game

I have been let level 21 two or three dozen times turn the system back on I hear the screeching noise and I lost all my data must be back to previous levels of 10, 5, whatever it's it's really crazy aggravating and what not. Thank you for your post I will give it a try maybe if I change factions like you say from cop the racer maybe that will solve it

That has also been my issue. Every time this game signs into the EA servers I get a horrible backfeed ping or some such and lose levels

    Basically in short

Step 1 - Bring democracy to North Korea

Step 2 - Build a home made rocket craft and travel to mars

Step 3- Plug your xbox one into a NASA internet grid at the space station

Step 4- Die, show your xbox to Jesus, resirect, than hard reset the xbox

Step 5- Bring your xbox one to the peak of the apelachean mountains and perform a voodoo ritual in it's honor

Step 6- Restart your router 47 times

Step 7- Tattoo a giant EA logo on your back

Step 8- Bring your Xbox One to  Selena Gomez concert with backstage passes and have Selena sign the xbox

Step 9- Invent a Time Machine and travel to the mesizoic era and have a dinosaur lick the xbox

Step 10- Confess your inner demons and problems to your xbox and try to get it's emotional consulting before proceeding

After all of this you still have to make sure you enter the command post on a rainy monday while in a green mustand with origin singed in with 25mb down speeds on your internet in october with no other game within 300 yards of your xbox.

Or just not play the game ever again....  That's my choice.  🙂
