Re: Save Data & Cloud Issues: lost data and game progress

ORIGINAL MESSAGE

Sorry to hear you're having an issue with the game @12KpBumblebee but Answers HQ is a player-to-player forum and we cannot restore your lost data here.

For further assistance with that issue you will need to contact Firemonkeys directly. Before doing so, please make sure to read this message from the studio:

There have been reports of players missing their save data. In most cases the data is still on our servers and can be retrieved.

If you're seeing the tutorial stage of Need for Speed: No Limits again, but have previously had your game logged in to Google Plus or Game Center, you may simply need to log back into your profile your save from our servers.

If you've manually uninstalled then reinstalled your game and returned the tutorial stage, and had not previously had your game connected to Google Plus or Game Center. I'm afraid that your save data has been lost and cannot be restored.

If your unsaved data was lost due to a game crash or update, or if a previously saved game is not appearing after reconnecting, please contact our team for technical support.

UPDATE Copy of message stamped 11-04-2015 09:27 AM

Hi everyone,

I took the liberty to merge several threads to avoid duplicates and make information easier to find.

If you are new to Answers HQ, please note that:

- AHQ is not a support channel, it is a player-to-player forum to share tips and tricks for issues that do not require customer support tools.

- The community managers working on AHQ do not have access to your accounts / game saves etc...

As explained in the "SAVE DATA & CLOUD ISSUES: LOST DATA AND GAME PROGRESS" sticky, if you are correctly logged into your Google Plus or Game Center but cannot retrieve your game data, you will need to contact Firemonkeys' support team directly. They have the tools to either retrieve your data or, if necessary, to replace some of the lost data.

We recommend to send only 1 ticket per issue and to avoid updating your tickets without cause (to ask for updates for instance). The reason for that is to avoid clusters and bigger queues than necessary, but also because tickets are bumped back to the end of the queue whenever they are updated.

The support team will contact you at the email you have provided in your support request, even if it takes a few days. Make sure to provide your Player ID number and to select Lost save data and progress in the drop down menu.

@teydi and @praZzi13 It's impossible to recover your game data if logging in Game Center or Google Plus didn't work. You both will have to start a new game data in No Limits or remove No Limits and forget about it. It's up to you guys.

Firemonkeys won't even bother to help you guys recover your game data. You guys are better off making a new game data than wasting your time on them.

My condolences to teydi for missing out on the BMW M4 F82 (Razor) and praZzi13 for losing real money thanks to lost game data.

@chrisace09 The point of uploading your game data is to have your game data backed up in case of data corruption.

Were you logged in Game Center or Google Plus before you lost everything? If you were logged in, then you could be able to recover your game data.

@Big_bazooka You can just forget about Firemonkeys replying you back because they won't reply ever.

@forming134 There isn't any local game data because No Limits is an online-only game. It needs to be connected to the internet in order to be played.

Were you logged in Game Center or Google Plus before that happened? If you weren't logged in, then your game data is gone FOREVER!

Yes, I was logged in to Google play. I am guessing that when I went through the intro again it saved over my old save? What a joke. Lvl 49 and real $$$ gone.

The thing that worked for me was to disconnect NFS from Google play, open the game and play tutorial again and then log in. The settings were restored. Hope that works for you guys as well

My condolences to your game data loss and your real money loss.

I have also had this issue as well, and after a month from submitting the information requested in order to be reimbursed I still have not received a reply other than automated messages. I spent over $100 on gold packages, and car deals. It has been very frustrating and the "solution" provided to retrieve data does not work

@dorian05061973 To get your game data back, log in to Game Center or Google Plus again. Then launch No Limits. You should be able to have your previous game data back.

Link: Save Data & Cloud Issues: Lost Data and Game Progress

@Doneeechamp If logging back in Google Plus didn't work, then all hope is lost. Your game data is gone forever and there's no way to get it back.

You can either start over in No Limits or you can uninstall No Limits and forget it about it. It's your call.

EA and Firemonkeys won't fix the issue because all they care is what's inside your wallets. They'll definitely NOT give 10,000 Gold because Gold can be bought with real money.

@Kemakul EA and Firemonkeys are not replying to you and are just sending you automated messages because they're subtly telling you to "Go away."

If "Save Data & Cloud Issues: Lost Data and Game Progress" didn't work, then your game data can't be recovered and your game data is lost forever. Not to mention your money spent for Gold packages went down the drain.

Either you start over in No Limits or you uninstall No Limits and forget about it. It's your choice.

@dorian05061973 If logging in Game Center or Google Plus failed, then there's no way to get your game data back and your game data is lost forever.

You'll have to start over in No Limits or you can uninstall No Limits and forget about it if you're completely fed up. It's your decision.

I ran into the same issue on October 28th while doing the RAZOR Event, and although I immediately opened a support case at Firemonkey's support website, I didn't get an answer apart from the auto-reply as of yet, consequently missing out on the RAZOR BMW.

However, while waiting I experimented a bit with a secondary Google Play account, and I'm quite sure that I found the cause of the problem as well as a method to prevent the loss of the savegame: The problem is triggered quite often after a tournament race has ended, immediately before returning to the tournament menu. When this happens, the game displays the Terms of Service for the game again, and if you accept them, the game's progress resets back to the tutorial, consequently overwriting the local savegame with a new game, which is what happened to us all.

If you however force-close the app before accepting the Terms of Service, the next time you start the game it will re-load the local savegame  which contains the progress up to the last tournament race.

This behaviour was 100% reproduceable for me, i. e. whenever I accepted the TOS, the game's progress was reset to the tutorial, and whenever I force-closed and reloaded the app instead, the progress was kept. I therefore assume that sometimes the savegame upload to the cloud fails, and when this happens the game immediately (and erroneously) resets its progress and overwrites the local savegame.

If I'm correct, the solution for the Firemonkey Devs would be quite easy: If the cloud based savegame is found to be faulty for whatever reason, check for a valid local savegame before reseting the game's progress.

Although my findings unfortunately won't help any player who already lost their progress (like myself), it should at least prevent it from happening again for anyone reading this, and may be useful for the Devs to patch the issue in the next game update as well.

@J4NED03 I doubt you will get an answer from Firemonkeys about your game data loss. They won't care.

My sympathies to you of missing out the BMW M4 F82 (Razor).

I don't have a Google Play account, but I do have a Game Center account as I have an iPod Touch.

I'm sure your tips will be helpful to other players that have Google Play accounts.

I wouldn't count on them fixing any issue because EA and Firemonkeys want the stuff inside your wallets.

How did you exactly do that? Im playing it for almost 1 month and a half and I was lvl 59 with the razor almost to the max RP. Once i did the tutorial again and then i had to choose to log back on my name. Now this is not happening again. My name is not there anymore to log in back ... so what actually to do

@scottboygt At least Firemonkeys did give some of your stuff back to you. That's still something.

Just continue playing No Limits before you lost your stuff. Maybe you can recover the stuff you lost (except the ones you spent real money on).
