I have a THrustmaster TMX Racing Wheel
No option to set it up in game
I go to the refund screen says it is not eligble for a refund um the game is not fit to play with keyboard (its also within 24 hours of release and within 1 hour of me launching game for first time), I get severe cramp in my fingers when I try to drive the car in game for more than 5 mins
This is HORRIBLE!!!!! How in the world can there exist a RACING GAME in this day and age that does NOT SUPPORT WHEELS??? I have to believe wheel support will be available at some point SOON after launch....... in 2015 it was better late than never for wheel support.... you would think.... that we would progress forward and not backwards. Oh well, I will be here checking daily UNTIL WHELL SUPPORT is added. Please hear our cries EA!!! :-0
Well I was in the Customer support chat for over an hour trying to get a refund, ended up having to say unable to play game due to a technical issue, the issue being NO STEERING WHEEL SUPPORT. Their Technical support department is looking into it, so fingers crossed I will get a refund, already uninstalled game.
Did you guys see the LOGITECH WHEEL BILLBOARD in the game yet??? Well, either EA/GHOST just likes TEASING US very viciously (which would really be a sick sick thing to do!).......OR, this is a sure "Sign" of "Things To Come". I sure hope it is the latter!!! Game On!
Sorry guys,,, here is clearer shot of the Logitech Wheel Billboard in the game....... :-)
- There are Logitech G everywhere, you can even choose a Logitech G sticker to be put on your car, but no sign of wheel support, it is odd to have a Logitech G ads in the game and no hardware to support, what then? Mice? Nope, the game does not support mice, Keyboards? I can hardly think of anyone playing with a keyboard, Gamepads? Hmm don't think so, the Logitech G is a new brand of Logitech and the old pads are not G series
So there must be something coming in the near future - Anonymous8 years ago
HAHA Things to come. Its a joke they would put that in their game when you cant currently even use it. Been Playing Need For Speed since underground and how on earth can they give us wheel support like full support on titles like Carbon in what 2006. Even the wheel support in NFS2015 kind of sucked. No H-shifter seriously guys. Get with the program and get us what we want.

Wow I almost ordered the Deluxe.....and suddenly wondered does it have steering wheel support because past ones haven't and I got burned....spent a half hour looking for info...guess that should have been a clue. No steering wheel support NOT BUYING. Its 2017 Its a driving game. Wet the hell EA are you *....for PC its a must!!! Your loss, will buy something else and it won't be an EA title

That is why i dit not buy the game. i will just stick to forza horizon 3.

Forza horizon 3 is so nice to play, I decided to buy it two weeks ago after playing the demo and not risk buying payback I learned my lesson after buying nfs 2015 that is still bugged because ea were too lazy and arrogant to fix it properly. I will just wait until payback ends up in the bargain bin for less than half price befrore I buy It.

I bought the game (which I shouldn't have done before trying it) and tried to play the opening screen. Two things stood out: one, no wheel support and 2, you can't exit the game without using the task manager if you don't get through the first 2 racing scenes. NFS is more concerned about storylines now than the cars. It's been that way since NFS 2015 and it's a shame. They're trying to be line Grand Theft Auto.
Hello early buyers, I just know that we get some updates, so all Logitech and Trustmasters are supported, others too.
Guess Criterion is to buys on the Star Wars releases.
EA, can you give us a time, by next summer?

Agree, WTF is wrong with these people, are they amateurs ?

if you have a wheel you can connect it vid making it your controller! watch this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5HoXyBlvZc , ALSO leave a comment because he is doing a wheel giveaway
Why are you lying? That youtube video is fake.
It does NOT work.
Everyone should report him for linking to his fake videos.

Can you show me bcs i have a t300rs and i want toe buy the game, but only if it supports the wheel on ps4.
and i dont like to take a risk here
Have a 'supported' logitech g29. I don't think there is any support on PC? I've tried every solution EA as well as the community has recommended so far.
Wheel is plugged in, and recognized in all other supported games. When I startup NFS payback, it asks to press enter key. Usually with an xbox gamepad you just press any button and it recognizes it. The game is unresponsive to any inputs from the steering wheel at all.
Latest logitech gaming suite installed v8.96.88.
- Made sure that the g29 was the only installed device under 'game controllers' in windows. Made no difference.
Tried repair game, made no difference.
- Switch is set to PS4 mode.
Reinstalled graphics drivers, G software, disabled and enabled origin ingame overlay. Did not change anything.
- Restarted OS. Did nothing.
- Tried to make a profile in the G software, set as persistent and default as one answer recommended. Did nothing.
- Closed Discord, teamviewer, And radeon relive/overlay in case they were causing an overlay or something conflicted.
- Win 10 pro 64bit Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299, AMD RX vega 64, Ryzen 1700x, 16gb ram
Other games do not have these kinds of issues and just work immediately.
I believe you need to switch the g29 to PS3 if you're using it on PC. Give that a shot.
I plugged in my Thrustmaster TS-PC yesterday and it was recognized by NFS Payback. I'm using it on a PC with triple monitors spanned via eyefinity. However, there are issues.
1. FFB is terrible and notchy. It's playable but something just doesn't feel right.
2. You can't adjust any settings or map any buttons at all. It's troubling to think that the latest iteration of NFS in this current era is so broken and incomplete that it has no direct input customization. It really isn't that hard, EA. You've done it before. This option is available even from games 10 years ago. And it was implemented fairly well in their previous iteration of NFS 2015 (dubbed 2016 for PC wheel compatibility). NFS 2016 allowed you to map custom wheel inputs which means that any wheel recognized by your PC would be compatible and playable. There are even advanced options to tinker with such as steering wheel sensitivity and deadzones.
Why not implement the same options in NFS Payback?
And further, for the console guys, EA, why not add all wheels that are natively available in the respective consoles?
If you do all the above, then you would have all of your loyal fans covered and happy. EA, you've done it before. You can do it again.
I have a Thrustmaster T150 setup, and I agree it is frustrating not being able to remap buttons. On Need for Speed 2016 I remapped my nitrous to one of the paddles and my handbrake to my clutch (I just play NFS type games automatic instead of manual). The default handbrake setting on Payback, which I can't change, is the square button, being the furthest button in for my right thumb. How does that make sense when they could've at least mapped it to circle?
NFS 2016 also handled perfectly for me without changing my wheel setting from 900 degrees rotation. For Payback I had to lower it to the lowest setting, being 140 degrees before it felt playable.
That being said, I do like how it handles at 140 degrees and I enjoy using the wheel. I would just like to be able to remap the buttons and also have access to advanced wheel settings.
So I recently bought a new computer and now NFS Payback will not recognize my T150 at all. I see others have had this problem, but there does not seem to be a solution yet. Hopefully there will be a fix in an upcoming update?

Don't hold your breath you will pass out from anger no there will be now thrustmaster support unless you use 3rd party software that is not great at FFB Wheel setups your fkd I believe is the right term and EA says thank you for your purchase. Sorry to be so blunt this is just the most ridiculous thing the game has been out for so long and non stop complaints of no STEERING WHEEL SUPPORT IN A RACING GAME and our request have gone with less than an answer not even a were sorry. I cant imaging why EA is having a hard time with their games and people to play them. EA you guys are a bunch of brainless hax that charge money for incomplete projects. I will no longer purchase EA games or Origin at that matter just because of this kind of * right here.
- Anonymous8 years agoCould you share information how you get it working please?
I tried it on PS4 with my T300RS but the steering wheel is ripping my hands - it is not possible to play with that.
Many thanks.
