8 years agoSo how is the NFS Universe Connected?
I know plenty of people ask this but how is the entire Universe connected? Luckily Payback connects the main titles I'll be explaining: Most Wanted (2005), Carbon, Prostreet, and The Run (shocker I know). Now let's state the obvious MW and Carbon. Carbon shows the events that led to MW and shows the events that unfold after with Cross quitting the Rockport PD to become a bounty hunter and continuing his chase after RC (Ryan Cooper). During Carbon we see Cooper uncover the truth about the money stolen from the bag in the game's intro cutscene. Long story short RC beats Darius and rides away both with the R8 and a free man. Cross we assume continues being a Bounty Hunter for a time... more on that later. Fast forward to Prostreet where we see RC trying to become a legal racer and champion over all the other racers in the legal leagues to which he has success in, but that didn't last long as in Undercover he quickly went back to his old ways and was arrested (Via Easter egg). From Most Wanted to Payback we can assume RC has been racing for 12 years or so. To Payback we see the name Cooper in the Outlaws Rush in the finale of Payback and shows that has to be RC still kicking it years later (man he has to be old). As for Cross we know he is credited with ending the Blacklist so that had to catch the House hence why he was an officer on the FVPD, but we don't know from how long. We do know that Cross quit (Via courier mission Easter egg) and stated that he will return to Rockport. I also think the House will attempt to stop cross since he has seen the corruption first hand (and great DLC idea). Now to Aki from Prostreet. From what we know he was dethroned as Drift King by RC. This loss from what I'm guessing has to have made Aki and his crew run in illegal drifting for a few years successfully with Aki again becoming DK since they appear in Payback until Mac defeats them (wonders what will happen to them again). From what we know for now is that Rockport, Palmont, and the Prostreet leagues all exist alongside Fortune Valley. Now for The Run, this follows the story of Jack Rouke as he races in a cross country race to win a cash payout to pay a debt back to the Mob. He is aided by an old friend of his who I assume has to also be a Fixer. Now the Mob also know Jack is in the race so they have one of their "families" send a man by the name of Marcus (and looks very similar to the Marcus in Payback might I add) but fails. I know from the end Jack I assume accepts another race with a massive payout which I assume is our same Payback race as it collected top drivers from around the world. If this is correct then was Rouke last year's champ, and does this also mean that the real USA is also a part of the universe? Also could The House be the same Mob that tried to end Jack and upon his failure cut Marcus and his "family" out too? This is only a theory but I'm thinking yes and that it is all connected so much that the possible future DLC content explains better upon this.
