I have preordered the game, played the 10 hour trial, loved it... But, I am worried to see that there is much talk around the internet saying that there will be no multiplayer freeroam. That is like massive for me, is there anyway that I, a person which preordered the game, can find out for a fact if there will be multiplayer freeroam. Because if there is not I will be canceling my preorder, in 2017 no multiplayer freeroam just sounds ridiculous, and no matter how good the game is, I dont want it without multiplayer freeroam, so moderators, devs, admins - can you please answer this question for us, as I really doubt Il be able to risk spending my money on such a dissapointment. And I know many will say there is tons of topics like this, but tbh I havnt found one with the answer Im looking for, so I decided to create my own. I will continue my effort of finding out until release.

Yup.... if they don't make an official announcement saying that there will in fact be a Multiplayer Free Roam like in 2015, BEFORE the launch..... me and my friends are also refunding this.What a stupid decision.... whoever let this slide on the development team, needs to be fired. You guys have just pissed off ALOT of your customers and people are leaving left and right. No one could've even expected such a stupid decision, that's why there was so much excitement for Payback. In just this last 24 hours period, the hype has died SO MUCH, and people just want their money back.

I agree with you. Multiplayer feels very empty in my opinion, but no they havn't talked about multiplayer free roam and i don't think they are going to add it

@Sorum13 Dude that looks like a short freeroam lobby before speedlists, its not the free roam that I wanted, a few minutes in freeroam before a speedlist is * tbh, I wanted freeroam like it was nfs 2015.... this doesnt really get my feelings up tbh, but it is something. I do want a solid answer from one of the devs or something, solid facts, so I can be calm and not go getting a refund.

It really looks like that there will be no "true" freeroam like we used to know it from various other games like Rivals or 2015.The only thing is the roaming while waiting for the speedlist. I noticed that there is no traffic and the whole world is just totally empty.a shame, really. I used the 10-Hour Trial to look at exactly these points of the game so i do not waste money and after 2 hours i found out that the removed features from the game that i would have never dreamed of.Till this is added Payback is not going to find its was in my pocket. And it had potential to he the best...but now its just "good".

@Th3_L3g3nd_11 I dont understand why they cant be open about it? Doesnt seem very respectful to the people preordering the game... They obviously know what we want, but they didnt add it. Like why? Too hard? Cost too much? Too much time? Then why let the game out, like it has such good chances to become a really great game if they added proper multiplayer freeroam like there was in NFS World.

So will there be multiplayer freeroam or what?

yup just download the game from torrent 71.99 bucks saved xD same experience unless they add freeroam multiplayer before tomorrows official game launch the game gona be just another random racing game that ima just gona download play story mode and put to the side

Dude, The game is great, and EA said they would be doing DLC just like 2015 if you want to you could play the game when it's not there or you can just refund it and buy it when it comes out. stop crying.

I'm extremely sad over the new Need for Speed the way they have the online setup I can't make any friends playing it 2015 had a complete free roam multiplayer after the story mode there is nothing for me to do on this game but race a bunch of random people I can't make even friends with I used to could post my cars and meet a group of people and have a car show almost every Sunday I max out two accounts plane 2015 I don't think I want another Need for Speed game if they can't fix this this has heartbroken a lot of people in the Need for Speed community

Gonna be honest haven’t read all the comments so I’m sorry if this has already been said (seem like most of you maybe aren’t seeing the bigger picture) when a game is first released a game developer has to guess the traffic in multiplayer they often get it wrong (GTA5 Online be a prime example) and with this miscalculation this leads to bad multiplayer experience like lag, sync problems and disconnects now we don’t want this. Paybacks be out about about a week now so my theory is Ghost a just trying to assess the online traffic this game will have which may mean a delay in free roam. In regards to speedlists to my knowledge they load on a different server to the freeroam sessions. Example, each speed list and all it players belong to one universe while ALL the free roam players are on one universe. Far more traffic in free roam then in speedlists. Once again I could be way off on this but this is what I’ve been told. So in my opinion Yes online freeroam is happening just hold you horses guys
Also Ghost the hell is up with these loading times like 2 loading screens each one 5mins just to be put into speedlist like man please annoying as hell.

Atleast they could give an official answer if it was on that purpose, so we didnt have to complain anymore and wait for the dlc?

Yeah, I think we deserve some confirmation about what's going to happen. I finished the single player story a few days ago and I'm left here thinking: "Okay, so what now?" 50 hours of gameplay and I have all the super cars that I wanted to get. I can't drive around with cops chasing me; I can't drive around with my friends in free roam. Although I didn't particually like Need for Speed 2015, at least it had Cops AND online free roam. It's pretty obvious that they copied many things from 2015 in Payback, so why not just keep online and the cops too? Tossing out two of the franchise's biggest selling points must've been a better idea in someone's head. I kind of understand getting rid of online free roam; There were people complaining about how the last game HAD to be played online. But I think I can say that the vast majority of players would've liked to see online free roam stay. However, I have to question: why, in this two year development cycle, were we (the players) not given this information ahead of time so that we could voice our opinions on the changes? I love how EA made that announcement before the game's release and basically confirmed there would be online free roam, but then edited it after it was already public and pulled the phrase "online free roam" from it. It would be nice if we could hear from someone at EA...... Hey, I'll give them props for a couple things though: I love the songs and the cars 😂

I agree, I cancelled my preorder but will definitely buy the game once online free roam comes out. That it if it does. Only issue is that EA need to work on their communication and let us know what is going on so the community stop complaining.
