This just look distorted logic to me. I have never felt that spending more money makes me enjoy the game more. I like the concept "play before pay" (freemium) so that no one is forced to pay for a game that he/she may not like at all. I don't really feel obliged to pay, on the other hand now I am willing to pay some amount as a praise to the developers (and in a hope they get most of it). But:
a) I never pay more (and usually much less) than on a normal commercial game. Therefore anything above $100 is just do-not-go-there for me.
b) I always try to get a good value for my bucks. In NFS NL the only option is monthly gold card and I've never bought anything else. If you do race, then it provides you with about six times as much gold as any other option. And if you do not race that often, what is the point of paying?
