I decided to leave my starter crew and create my own crew with my kids, family and their friends. nothing i everything i enter is getting flagged as containing profanity. I also have gotten this while trying to search for users. i have tried changing the system language on my pc. i have tried different names and every other thing i could think of. i have reached out to EA customer service where i was informed that this was a common issue and was instructed to try the previously stated fixes. after that i was told it would be sent to the dev team with no eta on when or if i will hear anything or there will be a fix. it's a little disappointing that there is such a large apparently ongoing problem coming from such a prominent developer.
This has been a active issue since march of this year. the API has a failure, which causes the profanity check to not take place at all, the game flags "no response" from the profanity check as a fail/flag. therefore every name you try will be flagged as profanity. You cannot get around this because unlike changing the license plate which u can do by turning off ur internet connection to bypass this check. u need to be online for crew creation. EA also stopped support for this title... so it is honestly unlikely this will ever be fixed.
