Unsupported Game Language

Ever since the update for the new GTR my game can't start due to unsupported game language, I went through all of the posts regarding this issue, tried repair / full uninstall on both client and game, tried regedit, I even went as far as re-formatting my Operating System as well as getting a new 256 GB SSD, Origin installed in default location, Game Installation path untouched, both locales set to English US and It's still giving me errors. Left two troubleshooting reports via EA Help Customer Service but they've changed the submits to "resolved" without even contacting me. Has anyone done anything different besides the usual to get this fixed or do I need to contact EA and get myself a new key?

Sorry for the long waiting reply, I was testing a few things but thanks Tom for the extra info as I got it to work but i'll give an explanation of what had happen upon my fix.

For the past week it's been all down, changing the languages in both Origin and Need For Speed has not fixed it, I've also reg-editted both origin and need for speeds base language and that has not fixed it either.

I've also done a test between 2 almost identical PCs. Mines and my brothers.
Both setups that are identical are

    - i7-6700k
    - G.Skill 16 GB TridentZ
    - Windows 7 Pro, x64 SP1

The stated PC setup on the left side of the forward slash is my current setup, and the other setup is on the right.
    The non-identical parts are

    - GIGABYTE G1 Gaming 7 Z170X / ASUS Maximus VIII HERO
    - EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclocked / MSI GeForce GTX 980 Gaming 4G
    - Corsair HX750 Non "i" / Corsair RM 1000

Running windows 7 pro SP1 on both. Did a brand new windows installation ( Again 3rd time on my PC now. ), updated windows until no more updates were found, installed all latest drivers, Nvidia WHQL 365.19 latest for video card, latest chipsets and needed software for motherboard et cetera, My PC still gives the unsupported language error, but the other PC can start it up, no problems. I was actually shocked and amazed.

So I had another thing in mind, is it blocking my PC in general ( Firewall is open for NFS both in and outbound )? Or was it reading the Mac Address from my setup? I did another 4th clean windows install but this time I changed the general info of my PC ( Username, Password ) and I thought, pfft. this wasn't going to work, updated windows, downloaded latest drivers and installed origin, left default settings, set it up as US English, installed need for speed US English and I was frustrated so much on the start up black screen. 30 seconds later, the NVIDIA logo showed up and it started all the way through. I was utterly pissed I wasted a week but I found an alternate fix among all the others that hasn't panned or worked out for me.

4 times on a fresh install of windows the 4th using a different username for windows and Need For Speed works, I'm confused as to how does NFS or Origin read the PC's Specs exactly? This is stupid.

    HI,

Thanks for detailing the steps you've taken. This most likely also means that you tried the steps in the below topic, but I want to double-check this with you:

    http://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Need-for-Speed-2016-language-change/td-p/5279260

The steps that I have for you which are included in the above topic, and which as you stated you've already done, are the following:

    • Reinstall Origin
    • Select a different language via Game Properties
    • Make Regedit changes

Should the issue persists then our EA Advisors will have to do account related troubleshooting which I sadly cannot assist with over the forums. Since you mentioned that you reached out to them without avail I have included some further steps on how to navigate our EA Help, below:

Start with selecting your country of residence to setup your contact. If your country isn't listed you should select either United States or United Kingdom.

Now follow the numbered steps as shown in the picture. If you are unable to login you will also be able to create an anonymous case at this point.

    • The final page doesn't load? press F5 on your keyboard to reload the page or try another browser.
    • You get no contact options? you are most likely trying to contact the selected channel outside of operating hours.
    • Your country has no phone number? use a voIP program such as Skype to contact our UK channel via +44 203 0141818.

    @iBismuth

Just to clarify: you managed to solve this issue by changing the login details of your Windows user profile?

Yes, this was on a 4th fresh installation that I used a different Username for Windows itself. The first three were the same.

So I don't know if the error was in regards to my mac address with the username on my PC ( as stated before, I did an install on a different PC and it worked ) or

origin finally sorted itself out on the 4th install, however I just wouldn't know until I run into this issue again.

I am actually unsure to the cause myself. I have seen this pop up several times for other players so there is definitely something strange going on. I will pass it on to our testing team to see if they can figure it out.

Thanks for coming back and sharing your findings. That is much appreciated.

    Have a nice evening,
