Sure yet Forza falls more on simulation game. Forza relies on Microsoft marketing. There are plenty of games on stream that are breaking through monopoloes as in case off project cars which grabed much of market share on steam.
The same is bound to happend to Need for speed through steam which is in competition with origin. It will lose share either to the simultanion market place which is becoming more relevant as time goes on or is bound to meet some competition now that steam allows more and more companies and games to enter the market place. By customer demand and customer service I meant market demand.
Last thing don't forget how many games are croud sourcing and are becoming very successful as deliverance kingdom come, star citizen and are breaking the classic market of games and disrupting the old ways of these mainstream companies who have enjoyed monoplizing the market share and where whatever they wanted. Marketing through gaming magazines or by revolving doors through magazines won't save them as they are becoming irrelevant themselves.

@1WhiteWolfALPHA So you are saying market share as a whole? Not too many people play racing games now so the market share for racing games will be small compared to other games. I can see what you are saying though. The competition can be fierce in the racing game market. Most people gear more to simulation than sandbox style racing games. I like the customization aspect of racing games so I gear more to the sandbox style. All in all, games such as Payback are hurting in the market share, I feel, because there just are not very many people (out of all of the gamers out there) that play racing games. If there was a huge demand, that might be different.
- There is plenty of demand for racing again you looking in console aspect and forgetting the PC and even in console there is some demands. Simulation is gaining steam because many companies in steam as platform and else where carters to customer demands.
There is demand for sandbox games also but you looking at ea old circle of customer.
In order for ghost to be successful and break through, two things need it to happen, first listen to customers and their demands which make the market and drop ea ties so they can do what they do without being tied to ea. Plenty of companies are going solo or through croud sourcing or collaborating with other companies and the time now is right and as obviously need to sacrifice to gain profit rather than be safe.
But to get to the thread point if they don't listen to customer base complaints and demands than they not listening to market demands so good luck with that next time they release a new game their customer base will only get smaller.- I just dont think people look at games from an economist standpoint. No one gets a game based off of competition or how it fits into the market share. Thats on EAs and Ghost Games side. The point is, people get mad at EA or Ghost yet those people have no idea whats being said behind the scenes or what one is telling the other. People are blinded by rage because theres no steering wheel support or theres not a good muliplayer. They do not stop to think. Its that "Im a consumer so give me what I want" mentality and thats not how it works in the world.

Customer is part of economy and "economy" is part of their profit kid and the reasion they are in the industry is to make profit. They offering a product and service which part you missing? And doing in exchange for money they not doing us a favor, and giving it for free. On top of that their games is much over valueted and over priced than many other games in markets as in steam, so the customer service should be absolutely there.
Customer base is part of market share and the reasion they have business without customer they would not have anything and default or go bankrupt. Customer complains is part of market reaction to your product.
If ea games would be bought in steam or Amazon platform
people would leave reviews which would scare the future buyers and force ea to make changes but because they have own platform as origin you can't leave reviews thus they think they can get away forever. Remember that they got named by consumerist twice for the worst customers service? That's the market reacting after a while.
Is all about customer and markets share which means to you how well your game sells and if you get hit or go bankrupt or thrive. If this happens to all your product is inevitable Welcome to modern world.
As investor I disagree even with hedge fund mangers which are clueless,and want to push for higher payments in pay to win systems which would scare many customers and gamers away to other companies.
