Weight and damage

Hello people, 

May I know if cars weight matter when you hit cops ?

I mean, I have the 180SX, it's light, fast but I get serious damage when I hit cops and also, when cops hit me.

If I buy .. lets say the Camaro ZL1 or the Challenger .. will the car does much more damage because of the weight ?
