When Did You Start Playing NFS?

Back in the 2000's when I owned a PS2, my favorite racing game franchises were Midnight Club and Burnout. Racing games is my favorite genre and I am very picky. I did play other racing games like the FlatOut series and Test Drive(2002), however, I quickly lost interest and decided to stick to MC & Burnout. My older brother who is 29 years old used to play Need For Speed from Underground to Most Wanted(2005). I played NFS Underground 2 just to drive around the city. My brother offered me to play MW('05) and so I did but end up not enjoying it(especially evading the police in free-roam). Years later, my beloved Midnight Club series and Burnout games were all dead & I had to move on to another racing game. I officially started playing Need For Speed  in 2009, which was NFS: Shift on the PS3 at age14. I was going to buy NFS: Undercover but I heard the reviews weren't good. I did enjoy playing NFS: Shift and I brought the next following game(not NFS: Nitro), NFS: Hot Pursuit. That was the best NFS game I ever played. I also own a laptop and tried out NFS: World and it wasn't that bad. After NFS: Shift, I brought every single Need For Speed game and so far it's now favorite racing game franchise. I never like playing NFS: No Limits to be honest.  I got my PS4 around March of this year and played NFS 2015. I am truly looking forward to play Payback this November since I already pre-ordered the game and it looks very promising. Need For Speed is not the racing game I play. I do play The Crew and I am planning on getting The Crew 2.

I started with the original one too, but it was in the 90'ishes, in the time there was that magazines that came with a CD full of demos of games, and Need for Speed was in one. In the demo you only could drive the dodge viper and there was only 1 race, and even then, it keept me entertained for hours a day, good times XD

Then some years my father bought me NFS 2 SE on my birthday, i still have the box with all the manuals, posters and stuff.

  • My first NFS game was either Hot Pursuit 2 (2002) or Underground 1. From there, I got every NFS game over the years, skipping The Run, all the way to 2015. I finally got the Run in 2016 / 2017.

I started way back on my old PC. I think it was the first one.

Then skipped quite a few (as my PC can't keep up with the specs) - After I got my PS2, got hooked with NFS Underground, Underground 2 and the MW: Blacklist. After that - stopped again as looking at the reviews of the next instalments of NFS turned me off.

Having said all that - looking forward for this one. NFS Payback! I think as a driving game; personal opinion, it's more of a personal thing. Having single player content / story mode is something that I enjoy.
