Why Need For Speed is only online? And no option for a manual transmission?

Firstly I want to say I am a huge nfs fan over 15yrs on PC. Now Xbox one. I have played almost every nfs. Secondly I cannot see a reason that the new Need For Speed is only an online game and the fact than there is no manual transmission or even the option?
Is there updates coming?
1.Offline play
2. manual transmission option.
3. Fix Glitchy online gameplay.
4.Dyno.

    I saw a post from the need for speed Instagram that they will be adding in manual transmission so looks like they are working on it.

    But still no word on offline mode which is definitely in need for this game.
