I am having the same problem as well.. XBOX -> Onkyo Receiver -> Samsung Plasma via HDMI. With my Onkyo receiver, I can turn it off and it will allow audio and video to bypass the receiver and show on the TV. Although I would rather hear the surround sound, it does fix the skipping audio issue. This seems to only be happening with NFS Most Wanted. Other games and videos(movies, YouTube, etc) have not had the same problem. The receiver came with the HT-S6300 Home Theater System and uses the HT-R680 receiver. Speaker configuration is 5.1 with audio set up as Dolby DigitalRegretfully, I do not know the model of the TV. HDMI cables are at least 1.3 compliant.
