One thing I also noticed: difficulty increases as you progress through the week. The risk is that you end up finding out that the car you're building doesn't work....but not until the Friday before the event. I was lucky to have a few backup cars and lots of cash so I could switch quickly, but if you don't have that you end up recycling the Friday for a long time.
I get that difficulty increases with each week, but within the week it should be consistent so that people can build/setup/tune a car that fits that difficulty and their playstyle.
