DualSense PS icons in NFS Unbound?

Hey folks,

I've seen mixed messages online about whether this actually works or not, but I have NFS Unbound via Steam, having Steam Input enabled launches NFS Unbound perfectly fine, but with Xbox button prompts. Disabling Steam Input specifically for NFS Unbound causes an issue when attempting to launch the game that EA App suddenly "cannot launch game due to disabled features"... And so doesn't launch the game at all. I also have EA App's in-game overlay turned off (it was doing the same thing with or without it on)..

Why would Steam Input being disabled cause the game to just not launch at all, if it also has keyboard controls, it can't even just launch using keyboard?

According to PCGamingWiki (https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Need_for_Speed_Unbound), the Vol. 7 update added "basic" DualShock, DualSense, and DualSense Edge native support, but does that include PS button prompts..?

EDIT: To clarify, I'm not getting the issue others are having with L2 and R2 being A and B or whatever, the controller is mapped correctly with Steam Input enabled as an Xbox controller.. But I'm using a DualSense controller, and disabling Steam Input causes the game to not even launch.
