I'm done with the NFS liscence.

So, I'm basically just here to vent, and if you want to do so as well, you're free to speak.

I've been a fan of the NFS series since I was a kid. Most Wanted was my first video game ever. It was this game that made me discover my greatest passion and my favorite hobby: cars and gaming.

Through the years, I've played all the games in the nfs liscence from Underground to Unbound. I grew up with those games. I saw the liscence evolve, change and being influenced by what was popular when those games were released. Some of those games were good, some others were not. But I always had fun playing them back when I was still a child.

But I'm an adult now. And with some hindsight, I can now see that this liscence has been slowly decaying over the years, with the final results being Unbound.

To be perfectly honest, I sold the game only 2 weeks after buying it. Bought it on Blu-ray day one for 80€. And I'm glad I did so because I could at least resell it for 20€.

I am now witnessing how EA and Criterion are handling this game. How they are changing and "improving" it with their updates. I'm not surprised with the way it turned out.

They just don't know how to make a good game anymore.

So yeah, it was fun while it lasted, but it isn't fun anymore. And, you know, the point of a video game is to have fun. So I made my choice. I'm saying goodbye to the NFS series, definitely. I'm not buying any new games in the series ever again. I'm done spending money on trash.

Of course, you don't have to share my opinions on the matter. If you're enjoying the games and the direction the liscence is taking, good for you. But I don't enjoy buying half assed games made by developers ignoring and even lying to their fan base repeatedly.

  • @Anonymous For me 10/10 best NFS of all times. Need some tweaks ingame tho, like removing the stupid effects, setup handling to 100% grip, to buy and build the good cars otherwise you will have problem even with easy AI. It has amazing photorealistic graphics no game comes even close, Forza horizon 5 looks so bad with empty desert world. Anyway cops are really annoying, the singleplayer is not overall amazing. But there is multiplayer and there is all the fun.

What was your problem? I read like plenty of negative feedback on steam and all is about the same. Devs can easily fix the majority of problems, so far they didnt fix two cars in two months so lets hope the next update will be more serious.

Ok everyone has their own choice, just like you did with NFS Unbound I did with NHL23. I've been playing both games since the beginning, first on PC, then on X-Box and now on PS5. I like the story and the AI here at Unbound, I just don't like the online game that much, but I play it. And with NHL23, both were very bad, so I deleted that completely. That was then 80 euros for the garbage.

The problem I have with this game is that EA think it's OK to release an unfinished game.

For the artistic style , I can't blame them. I'm not a fan of it but it's their choice.

Online is empty because you can't do anything except race and spend time to customize your cars, which you have to grind forever to unlock. I want to play a video game, not feel like I'm working.

The solo campaign is meaningless once you finish it. There is no point buying and customize cars in that solo campaign because it doesn't even transfer online.

Sure, the game looks good most of the time but missing textures on some cars is not acceptable (the C63 AMG stock exhaust for example). Also misplacing the stickers on the M3 GTR show how lazy the people working on the game are. It takes 5 minutes to place them correctly. But they don't even bother to do so. The 488 is the most broken car in online races, yet they prefer to fix the Golf and the Regera which are still problematic, but not as much as the 488.

They say they are going to release "Free" updates to add content in online and fix game braking problems in the same time. You have to understand that they are not adding free content, they are making updates to add things that should have been in the game to begin with.

People are buying half a game at full price. That's just messed up.

And knowing EA, there is no guarantee they'll be sticking to what they are saying. For example, in their last "under the hood", they did not say there was going to be new content in March. They just said they are "looking forward to sharing more details with you in March". You might get new content for the game in November for all we know, if they don't change their mind until then. It wouldn't be the first time they canceled a project in the middle of it's development.

It's not just a problem about NFS, but about how EA is managing the way they're making games. It's a patern that has been repeating the past few years in a multitude of their games. The most notable one being BF 2042.
