Need For Speed Unbound performance issues

I am having an issue where Need For Speed Unbound’s performance  takes a huge hit after using the pause / settings menu or map and entering the garage and meet-ups. It happens regardless of what settings I am using minimum, maximum or anything in between.    If I play the game without using the pause menu, using the map, entering the garage or a meet up my performance is fine with 0 issue, I get 70 - 80 FPS at maximum settings and 100 - 110 with DLSS    after using any of the above my FPS becomes extremely low and unstable anywhere between 15 - 35 FPS. I've tried turning down my in game settings (minimum low or anything in between) and I get stable FPS until I use the above where my FPS becomes unstable and jumps around 15-35 FPS again. Even if I was using DLSS or any other form of upscaling to increase performance I get the same result regardless of my settings and resolution
