Profanity

There needs to be an option to shut off the profanity in the game. My son is 11 and this game is definitely geared more towards kids, so give the option to shut PROFANITY off.

  • This is my biggest problem with this game. I don't understand who at EA or NFS thought that it was a good idea to introduce such foul language into the game. Its no wonder why so many people have stopped playing. Its not possible to enjoy the game with your family and children with so much disgusting and unacceptable language coming from the cops in this game. I believe that the profanity has caused EA to lose a large portion of its customers because it makes the game totally inappropriate for gatherings where a decent video game would having been used to provide and add to the entertainment. EA and NFS need to understand that not all players of its video games are fans or users of obscene language. If this is the direction in which NFS is heading, I can only speak for myself, I would not be buying another NFS game in the future.

  • @GTLewis99 I have to ask this, but did you forget to check the age rating of this game before buying it for your son? This isn't an EA problem, this is a YOU problem. Buy games more appropriate to your child's age rating if profanity concerns you.

    Exactly lol...

This game literally has a song talking about a dude having b*tches, h*es... However you wanna call them...

And you are asking for a profanity filter for your kid ? Buy him Forza instead since its all sunshine and bunnies there.

Like the user above mentioned, did you even check the age rating ?

I am disappointed to know that the profanity detector even easily finds my native Serbian curse words...

Don't get me started on the profanity filter for the license plates. Back in Heat I made a pretty nice looking BMW M3 E46 in a red color and yellow lights, wanted to put "Akuma" as a license plate and the filter kicked in, despite 悪魔 (Akuma) literally translating to "devil" or a "demon", which I don't think should be considered a profanity. In Unbound, I tried to put Rotary Power onto my RX-8s plate in a shorter form "rotopwr" and the filter kicked in. I'm flabbergasted by how dumb it actually is. Out of curiosity I asked a friend to put both words in question into Forza Horizon 5 and both got applied on the license plate there just fine. So as far as I'm aware, EA has it a bit backwards in this regard.

  • This is kinda an odd thing to complain about... the audience that have stood since the 2000's have grown up, so it would only be natural for the Need for Speed series to grow up as well.

  • @DaAlcatrax

It's rated T for Teen though, which is 13 yrs old and older, so unless you fancy 13 yr olds cussing like a sailor, then the OP is completely justified with their concerns.  I certainly have no interest in hearing cuss words in T-forTeen games, and I'm 42 yrs old and do cuss from time to time around friends. A Mature rated game, sure don't care, but a game supposedly rated safe for 13 yrs olds, no.

  • well then its esrb fault for making it a T for teen game when they wrote "Language, Mild Suggestive Themes, Mild Violence" next to that rating. EA and all the companies dont do the rating themselves . Its ESRB that does the age rating for games. So  complaining  on the games forum wont do much. maybe contact ESRB and voice your concerns for the age rating they gave to a game that has illegal street racing and swearing

  • I understand the sentiment. Regardless of the writing style, the original post's intent is crucial. Having a passion for cars and wanting to share that culture is a desire shared by many people.

If there are many requests like this, the age restrictions in the next installment are likely to be relaxed. It's a simple matter of expression.

In fact, the essence of this game is quite a social issue. It's about "rebelling against authority." Can we really do such a thing? That's why I like Unbound.

  • i  cant write "420" to my cars windows via decals :d they make me use two decals for 4 n 20

but when check track names we see subliminal like, get high tonight, bring da ruckus etc.

i think some of the workers are in da mood
