They did? I know they dropped an update today, but I haven’t noticed any change to the backfire option. 
I also just checked it and it still is no way near to the type of backfire that we had in nfs heat.

Well it's not from heat but in my opinion it's way better then what was there originally. I haven't played it yet saw from a video.
