After the Hot Pursuit remastered disaster I don't believe in anything anymore.
The original Game had steeringwheel support including force feedback - the remastered didn't. Until today - even if so many people complained about it.
Therefore I'm not really confident, that UNBOUND will have it again.
So @EA: No official steering-wheel support commitment - no money from me.
Well this is disappointing, how could they not know if there will be wheel support on launch. I guess ill be waiting for awhile before i get the game. No way i'm preordering if i can't get an answer to a simple question.
- @Pair_Demons So because I think its pointless I automatically can't afford a steering wheel? See, this is the issue with people like you and the rest of the community. The assumptions really make you look idiotic.
- @4Northstar I fail to see the point in schieving realism in an arcade game. This is not a simulation game. There's not point in having a steering wheel in a game that's not intended to be a simulation game.
- @KTM690ER That's not Unbound.
- @Sekabb77 EA isn't going to answer, not in the forums anyway. There have been a countless number of these questions every release. No amount of people claiming they're not going to buy it whether for wheel support or lack of confirmation matters. There are millions of people who are going to buy it no matter what.
- @XGCSith How can someone can look idiotic for supporting steering wheel in a CAR game? lol
Regarding your, (or my), pointless argument: I met a few hundreds of players in my 20+ years in this franchise and I can say a big majority of them said something like "I can't afford a wheel but I'm ok with the controller because it's an arcade game". Don't you find some contradiction here? @Pair_Demonsbecause it's an arcade racer, not a simulation game. Steering wheel controls literally do nothing for an arcade racer. There's no force feedback, it doesn't make the cars handle any different and it's not anymore immersive than a controller.
I fail to see any contradiction. My argument was that you claimed that because I don't see a point in stirring wheel controls in NFS games, I somehow can't afford it. You're basing your argument or whatever you want to call it, on assumptions. Just because the "majority" of people you talk to (which, let's face it, it probably a small number and not anywhere close to a few hundred) claim they can't afford a wheel doesn't mean I can't. I've been playing NFS since NFS 2 Hot Pursuit. I have yet to actually want nor need a steering wheel or this series, let alone any racing game.@XGCSithdo you feel offended because of people who want to DRIVE a racing game by a steering wheel? Cars are still being still driven by steering wheels. In real life, in simulations and it should be possible also in an arcade racer.
Just as is it was already and always possible in the past. Even real arcade machines in the 80ies were driven by a wheel...
And do you know why? Because it's alot of fun! And it's a challenge (for me) if I can drive the same times as someone does with a controller.
But your claim, that arcade racing games don't have force feedback shows me, that you've never tried it.... Even all NFS titles, which had wheel support, had also force feedback.
So please just accept, that there are a lot of people out there, who would love to drive a racing game by a steering wheel. Especially if it's a kind of "Underground" / "Carbon" / "Most Wanted" title, which UNBOUND maybe will be.
And honestly: Why should be wheel drivers be discriminated in a racing game? (Again: See the HOT PURSUIT REMASTERED disaster...)
But let's see if there won't be an answer by EA for that. I stick to it. No clear answer by EA, no money for the game.
@crazyDJSIRmYou realize this is a game and not real life right? I know arcades had wheels. They also had pedals and a shifter. Still doesn't alter the fact that a wheel, in an arcade game, does literally nothing for the game. It just gives you guys satisfaction for some bizarre reason.
You are again, one person screaming in a crowd of millions. EA does not care if one, two, three or a couple of hundred people don't buy a game for an arbitrary feature.
