I am running Linux Gentoo with Lutris + Steam + Proton on kernel version 6.1-19.
I know, Linux is not support I know. I can technically run the client. As long as I stay in the lobby, everything runs fine. But as soon as I hit "Story Mode" or "Online " -> the game keeps crashing:
I managed to sort of install it. I used lutris + steam + proton (on gentoo kernel 6.1-31 and amd driver modules + amd gpu driver )
=> ...lutris.net/games/need-for-speedtm-unbound/
I could run through the installer. I could even technically run the application - as long as I stay in the lobby. But as soon as I run "story mode" it crashes.
The Error Message i keep getting is:
"Error 111. -> Error FTJR2008 / 00090809F"
But to make matters worse -> Windows user do have the same problem:
...Technical-Issues/Error-FTJR2008-00090809F/td-p/12094051
I trried:
Step 1.
From folder (wine environment of course)
C:\Users\XYZ\Documents\Need For Speed(TM) Unbound ----> \SaveGame\ with files like wrap, savegame, wraps <---- Copy this folder and paste to deskopt
Step 2. If u have a copy, delete it from folder NFS
Step 3. Start Game - U gonna see that your saved games not works and new Save File is created by game (Meanwhile when u gonna try start Story/Online = U gonna have Creator of Character - Don't Create just exit if u have creator)
Step 4. Exit Game, go into that folder SaveGame-> savegame and just replace new file with old (name of file = 1)
Nice try - but don't work on linux -.-
IRONICALLY, the in game store works - that is typical for EA isn't it? - just kidding - Follow the money and you know how the story goes. That made me mad! If you cannot take a joke - LOL. But that is progress thanks to the Update 3.0 - I guess...?
For now I am running dual boot -> and I am stuck with windows 11 -.-
