Anyway, even after connecting to NA, for some reason it doesn't lag that bad on linkups as opposed to races. And since the free VPN I'm using also offers connecting to Netherlands, I tried that & linkups work there as well (so I'm assuming the EU also don't have this problem). The lag is also a lot more bearable but I'm not too sure if that's just a one time thing. Need to test it out more.
If you're not using any VPN & would like to test it out, look up Proton VPN. Register for free, download the client, login & choose the server you'd like to connect to (preferably ones with the least load). When using VPN though, do take precaution when running/quitting the game by allowing some time before running/after quitting the game before turning on/off the VPN. Switching connection servers like this means the game needs to sync your save file & just rushing to connect/disconnect to/from the VPN servers could potentially desync it & ruin your save.
The EA client would warn if the save is out of sync. If you see that do wait a while before turning the VPN on/off before running/after quitting the game. It's also good to make a backup of your local save frequently, just in case anything bad happens.

Hey there,
I have raised the information that has been written here recently, but I haven't heard new information. As soon I know something new I will let you know.

- 2 years ago@Peakkiwi thanks for the info, I’m playing from PS5, is there a way to do this?

I think you guys should take this opportunity and implement server options in future updates because I am having a lot of fun in these no Linkup servers!
I love that I no longer have to worry about being force spawned into a Linkup after completing playlists and I can consistently get others to join and launch playlists like in Volume 1 and 2.
But the boosted playlists should also be available in these no Linkup servers because there is more reward.
It could also allow an opportunity for the cooldown between each Linkup spawning to be restored back to what it was in Volume 3 (for the servers with Linkups) which will certainly make people who enjoy Linkups happier.
It is a win-win situation. Please think about it!

Sorry that this is late, but I'm not sure since I don't play on consoles. I've heard talks about using VPN on consoles though so you may want to look it up. If you could do it, do try to connect to the US/Netherlands via VPN and see if it works.
At any rate, the current Speed Pass should end this upcoming Wednesday and if there's a Vol.5 (hopefully) I'd love to see this fixed. - 2 years ago

Ok, reading the patch notes, apparently the upcoming Vol.5 update has addressed this:
- Fixed an issue where Linkups and Boosted Events were not appearing for some players
As can be seen on: https://www.ea.com/games/need-for-speed/need-for-speed-unbound/news/patch-notes-vol5?utm_campaign=nfsu_hd_ww_ic_soco_twt_vol5patch&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&cid=78369&ts=1697006291292
I'm frustrated that it did ended up taking an entire volume to get fixed, but this is better than nothing I guess, and I hope it really does get fixed.
And on another note, it's off topic but while it's great that we get to play all link up locations in Vol.5 at the same time I'm also a bit disappointed that the only new things we get (aside from cars & their customizations, free or otherwise) are challenges and a decal masking functionality (which would be great for customizing wraps, if it does what I think it would). I was looking forward to getting new events and/or new tracks for existing events (more gauntlets, rumbles & corner kings please) but I guess that's asking too much. Well, hopefully a Vol.6 will happen & bring in some new things by then. - 2 years ago
Hi There. Been playing since Volume 5 update is out. Waited for like 2-3 hours and no linkup or boosted event appeared
Feels like the update isn't doing anything. I'm from Malaysia also btw. This is very weird.

@EA_GroguetWell nevermind Linkups supposedly getting fixed on Vol.5, I couldn't even play now with the game regularly crashing. And based on the lobbies I manage to get in before the game crashes shortly everytime, there seems to be no Linkups nor Booster Events whatsoever.
Why is the game getting buggier & worse with each update??? Nevermind the Linkups that don't even get fixed after A WHOLE VOLUME UPDATE, now I can't even play the game with this update. I'm losing my patience here. You tell the higher ups on EA to put Criterion back on NFS Unbound so they can develop & support it properly. Battlefield needs development? Hire a different studio. I thought EA is a massive company. Can't they even afford that? Where does all the money the company make go? - 2 years ago
I've played linkups and boosted playlists in Vol.4, but not for a few weeks now. Maybe I connected to a "working" server somehow, if the issue is actually region based. I haven't seen any in Vol.5 despite the explicit mention of a fix in the patch notes. Just my 2c worth. AU/NZ here.

Hey there,
The Linkups issue was supposed to be addressed on the Vol.5 update, but it seems that the fix hasn't worked. The team keeps investigating and working to fix this issue.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Yea im sorry to say but working on this doesnt help the lost progress from volume 4 and now what will most likely be 5 aswell, support the game from day one, enjoy the constant updating volumes but whats the point when the game gets busted and no one can actually play link ups in their respective regions. its great we can unlock one car through challenges but that doesnt fix the progress for the volume and the rest of the unlocks not to mention just the sheer fun lost on not playing link ups with a group or the whole lobby. Its not EA's inconvenience only the players, the ones who support the company in the first place. Shouldn't be too hard since its been what 2 months now or more without being able to play link ups or half of the special races.
