Hey,
First of all, it's a shame that the developers don't seem to be addressing these issues.
To answer your question, @EA_Illium , yes, after updating to Vol. 8, the problem still persists. Honestly, I don't want to go through all those files again, especially since others have done so and it hasn't been helpful.
Here’s some more information:
- Platform: PC
- Version: Steam
- I’ve checked all the recommended solutions, but none have worked.
- When I click "Go Online," the sync starts but stops at 2/48 and 69/~248 (I don't remember the exact last number). After that, I get a notification that the sync didn’t work and that I should visit EA Support.
However, I found a solution, even though it’s not ideal. Thanks to @DCDrumsGangnam for suggesting that deleting the SaveGame file allows you to go online again. It works—I can go online now.
For anyone on PC who wants to go online, try this:
- Open File Explorer.
- Navigate to Documents on the left side. (If Documents isn’t there, go to: C:\Users\"Your PC Username"\Documents)
- Open the "Need For Speed(TM) Unbound" folder.
- Either delete the "SaveGame" folder or create a new folder named Backup, then drag and drop the "SaveGame" folder into it.
- Start the game.
- When the game asks "Go Online," press YES. Otherwise, you’ll need to start from step 1 again.
- You should now be able to join online, but all your progress will be lost.
I’m going to test if it’s possible to "cheat" your story money, at least to buy back your cars. Swapping the "old" SaveGame file with the new one that connects online probably won’t work, as the settings are likely saved in the SaveGame.
And to Quote @DCDrumsGangnam : "WTF EA."
Cheers
