That's why it's always best to turn off automatic synchronization and upload the data to the cloud manually after each game. That way, you always have all of your data in the cloud. And it's even better to transfer the data using an external Sony Playstation hard drive. You can just check whether the data is still in the cloud on the old PS5.

I’ve checked and it seems it transferred all my ps4 saved data but not the ps5 cloud saves so looks like I’m out of luck
oh well back to the grind I guess
