Summarize your bug The game randomly ignores and freezes all controller AND keyboard inputs. So when I turn in one direction it gets stuck for a few seconds and I can't even pause the game.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the game with an Xbox One controller. Happens on Both wired and wireless. Mostly during a race.
What happens when the bug occurs? I just play the game normally and randomly all input gets ignored for 3-5 seconds.
What do you expect to see? Controllers working properly for a game best to be played with a controller.

I have had 3 different controller bugs already (controller not being recognized when a second input device is connected to PC, Sometimes wrong controller button mapping when connecting wirelessly and randomly ignoring controller input for a few seconds), IDK how you guys even tested this game without any of them being noticed and fixed already. It's really frustrating to search for solutions for an hour if all I want to do is play this fun game.

On my new PC, I think I might have fixed this issue. I have no HDD but 4 x M2 NVMe on this PC and it seems I've been able to play finally without this issue by disabling the SSDP discovery service and Windows reports, might be the same for you:
Disable SSDP Discovery
1 – Search services in Windows taskbar search and click on it to open service manager window.
2 -Locate SSDP DIscovery Service from the list and double click on it.
3 – Now, Click on stop to stop this service.
4 -You can also disable it permanently by choosing startup type as disabled.

@Dionic20 Those exact same things happen to me…it locks my steering to the left or right for a moment every 2 mins… it then crashes when I dis/reconnect the controller.. tried everything at this point…

Can confirm, happens roughly once per minute or two. More precisely, what happens is that the input gets stuck for about two seconds, and THEN it does the inputs you did while it was frozen. Meaning if you try to countersteer in a drift, the car will instead end the drift and then drive off into a wall or off a cliff because you steered that way. I have also experienced it in menus.
I experience this on windows 10, using an Xbox one controller plugged in via USB

Can confirm I also have this issue.
No matter the Input method I use: Xbox One controler Wired or Wireless, PS5 Controler or Keyboard
Issue stays the same and is also not fixed with several game or PC restarts

for me it goes as far as basically rebooting all my "Controllers" aka, Wheel (G920), Controller (Elite 2), Keyboard (Razer Ornata) and Mouse (Razer Viper Ultimate). It makes the Game literally unplayable because it destroys all my settings

Krisha_Actually nailed exactly what's happening, I have the same issue. Windows 11 wireless Xbox One controller, the behaviour doesn't dissapear when I connect it via the wire or restart the controller/game/pc. Haven't tried using the keyboard yet, but I'm not exactly interested in playing a racing game on a keyboard when I have a gamepad

I also have this problem and I am personally very confused at how EA allowed this to even leave the studio like this.

I'm having this exact same problem. Xbox One controller, Xbox 360 controller, PS5 Controller, and Keyboard all have the same issue (all wired). Inputs are ignored every couple of minutes or locks a direction and runs off the road. I also have problems in menus where a press of the stick or d-pad is ignored. The game is unplayable like this, especially since you can only restart a race 4 times.

Hi, i had the exact same problem.. every 5 min the input (keyboard and xbox controller) just seems to "get stuck" :D

after updating the controller firmware my problem was solved..
dont ask me why this affected the keyboard input... :D
1. download "xbox accessories" from microsoft store
2. connect controller
3. update firmware

Somebody suggested updating gamepad firmware, doesn't work, firmware was already at the latest available version. Re-installing and repairing the game doesn't help either. Used a different PC entirely with a different account, all input devices completely different, same exact issue.
