PS5 - Acceleration issue only on Events when using Logitech G29

Just as the title states.  I just got this game and love to drive around on free roam. Everything is fine apart from the clutch pedal being useless with the shifter (another issue but different). However any time I join one of the events (just started single player story mode) , the car seems to want to accelerate but not, all at the same time. You cant increase the speed when pressing accelerator pedal, in events its stuck revving itself even when not pressing pedal. But its fine when not doing events??? Please help.
