Thanks @EA_David Did not noticed any Game Update loading today. 

30 Min Gametime still in median. But I did some more testing with settings and GPU.

So the custom RTX 4080 cards are a overclocked by default - as always. (ASUS, MSI, ...)

I can reproduce the error within <5 Minutes by running the GPU at the  ASUS clock speed.

If I downclock the GPU the error delays up to < 1 hour.

The error then usually occurs if the GPU Usage peaks to 100%. (in downclock mode, in non downclock mode the error occurse <100% GPU Usage)

I can reproduce the error faster when using the "Nitro" from the cars in the game. But the error also occurs if you don't use "Nitro".

@Sn00zey90@EA_David I don't think it's a coincidence that we're both having issues and both running RTX 4080. Unfortunately, lowering the clock speed does not fix the error for me, and I still error in <10 seconds of gameplay. However, if I drive slowly, I can play indefinitely without a DirectX crash. I can confirm that using Nitrous causes the error to reproduce faster. Thanks!

same here - also RTX 4080

game works fine for hours as long as I don't press any buttons - when I let the intro play, and do not press W when prompted the car sits on the side of the road, all works fine

as soon as I start driving - and it's regardless of the controller (wheel or keyboard) - the game will crash with the DX12 error

no overclocking, removed all other devices, clean boot, not HDR, all drivers updated, win11 - all current

nothing makes any difference

weird that the game works fine when no buttons are pressed

Oh downclock does not fix the error. It just delays it in addition with fixing the FPS at 50 in NVIDIA Control Center.

Did again some testing. Faster cars with Nitro crash earlier than driving slowly. Not moving at all, standing still in idle mode let the game run >2 hours.

Tried Battlefield2042. Same Error. Seems to be an engine problem since both are frostbite.

Back with some more testing.

Tried another Hard Drive with a fresh install of windows. RTX4080 crash in NFS:Unbound after 5 Min.

DX12 CRASH DOES NOT OCCUR WITH MSI GTX1080

Tried another GPU: GTX1080 MSI. It uses the same driver as the RTX4080.

Able to play without any crashes.

@EA_David Probably a problem between the new RTX GPUs and Frostbite Engine. Please see my comparison in attached file. I am no technic expert, but maybe my comparison of the two graphic cards help. Lot of peaks in the GPU memory in the RTX4080, while the GTX1080 does not have any spikes and runs stable all the time.

This is NOT my solution. Game needs to run on my new RTX4080 too. Appreciate more help :-)

I just want to point out that I’m running the game with a GTX 1080 ti and I’m getting constant crashes within 20 minutes of gameplay. This issue doesn’t seem to be exclusive to RTX cards. I’ve tried all the fixes mentioned like cleaning the cache, deleting the DX files, reinstalling, etc but nothing has worked and the game continues to crash when it feels like it.

I tried it on 527.37-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql too. The game crashes after 6-10 minutes.

DirectX Error

DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The GPU will not respond to more commands"). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080", Driver: 52737. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try installing the latest drivers. GPUBreadcrumbs: OK

New Nvidia Driver installed. DX Hung Error still occurs. Tested some more DX12 Games - with no error.

Problem only occurs in Frostbite Engine Games till now.

@EA - ?? no response for 2 days? are you ignoring serious issues in your product discovered by players? Is that a common practice or is it EA native only, I wonder...

I’d really appreciate any sort of acknowledgement from EA that this is an issue that we can’t fix in our own. This is a serious problem that needs a patch. All I want to know is that they’re working on it.

This is a very complex error between our own Hardware Setup and Frostbite Engine. If you are using google, you can find posts about this error back till 2015. I don't know if Devs can fix it. Seems to be deep inside the engine.

I will try a different 4080 from MSI next week and see if its just my ASUS card since it works fine with my 1080 MSI.

Take a look here. It is a very complex error with the System and Frostbite. If you do not find out what causes the error for your system, you will run in this error probably in a lot of Frostbite Games. If you have EA Pro you can try Battlefied 2042 for example and probably see the same result.

People, I found a very interesting thread in the steam forum.

A whole lot of people have that DX12 Hung error. In steam Forum all of them using Ultra Wide or 4k / 5k resolution.

Anyone in my thread using a lower Resolution than 3440x1440 having that error?

I’m still getting this error and constant crashes at 1920x1080 resolution. I’ve messed with all sorts of graphics settings and the issue still persists. At this point, I’ve refunded unfortunately.

Are EA going to acknowledge this or not. 

I have a 4080 16GB, 5800X3D, 32GB ram, win11 fully updated, Acer 38s 3840X1600 resolution, latest drivers.

No other problems in any other games, from MSFS 2020, X-Plane, cyberpunk, RDR, etc etc etc . 

This game just constantly crashes, no communication, no pro active response, no fix, no nothing! 

I will cancel my pro sub soon and never bother again, it's all a total waste of time. I am absolutely sick of the lack care you show your customers, you just don't care it seems. 

This is a major problem, it's either your game, or you need to tell Nvidia to be pull finger out, because something is desperately wrong.

i have an rtx 3060 ti 
ryzen 7 3700x and 16gigs of ram

i run the game at 1920x1080 and the last time i played the game which was friday, i still had the crashes(dx12 hung and the gpu physically removed and driver crash ones) occuring at anywhere between starting up the game and playing for like 15 minutes

and i find it interesting that i have the task manager open because im not a tech savvy person and was curious about the gpu usage and while i run the game between high and ultra graphics settings, the task manager said that the gpu wasn't used more than 20% while my cpu usage is at around 70% and i can head my cpu cooler (the basic factory amd wraith) about to take off with the pc

I involved the NVIDIA technical support. Right now I am in 2nd level technical support and they try to reproduce the error with their own hardware.

Please if you have the DX Hung error get in touch with NVIDIA Support here https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/support/ 

Initially they will send you a standard message like the EA Staff here. After that write that "it is a very complex error, please forward my case to 2nd or 3rd level support".

We need more attention to get this fixed.

I have the same issue, already tried everything...

GPU: AMD 6900XT

Mobo: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero (AMD X570)

RAM: Corsair DDR4 4x8Gb 3800C14

EDIT: Just to be clear, I have this issue onlu with NFSU, all others EA games works perfectly

It's good that you're trying to push this forward as much as possible because EA has ignored this for too long. I really hope this finally gets resolved because I'm fkn fed up with this bs error that only occurs on FROSTBYTE ENGINE games... I'm pretty sure these errors have even damaged my system because I've been getting this sht on BF since launch and it's never been fixed and these crashes have caused my CPU to overheat multiple times.

Guys this is serious. I am getting direct x error crashes now 3 4 times per hour gameplay, game is becoming barely playable? Yea on 3080 with newest graphic drivers nothing is oced.
