Same thing happens for me, I'm using a wired official Xbox controller.

NFS (and FIFA 23) will ignore my controller inputs for 3-5 seconds randomly, locking itself to the previous input.
I've got the windows controller device open and windows is still registering the input but NFS is not accepting/listing to the input till it "reconnects" itself even though its never been disconnected.

Problem happens very randomly so its very hard to make it happen on demand.
