I highly doubt True, etc. told EA "hey don't include our gear that could possibly influence audiences to checking out our products and buy it, thanks to it being in the game."
But you brought up a great point that I didn't discuss, @KlariskraysNHL.
DaveArt teased November 4, 2020 on social media that he's teaming up with EA Sports. It's been two years... are his masks coming in the game? That would be super beneficial to having nice looking aesthetics.
@MATTDALOR1ANIf I had to guess that deal probably fell thru seeing as EA would have to pay him each iteration to keep masks in the game. Probably an area they felt the price isn't worth a profit margin gain.
Or he created some generic ones we already got in the game
I had ideas where EA did contests to design some jerseys/emblem/goalie mask/equipment from the community by giving us a template. They pick like 3 winners each year and add their mask/jersey/Emblem/ goalie mask/ gear to the game.
Give the grand prize winner(s) a free copy, HUT points, name in credits
2nd and 3rd get a free copy with less hut points.
They pretty much create for EA to own the creations. That way it stays in game and get the community involved in the best way.

Morally a bad idea. You are asking for people to be low paid contractors for EA and most of them to put in the work for nothing - because their entry isn't accepted.
They either need to make it so you can upload all you want for offline use and require a whitelist request to use online or they need to pay employees or professional contractors to design them. But if EA is taking ownership of the art rather than letting it be uploaded by users (2K definitely had it in the past year's WWE title), then they need to pay people properly for it. I personally favor the open content solution and online players will just have to suck it up.I'm annoyed there are no new masks in the game I really have to look at those ugly Avalanche masks for 10 years.
New pads in game. CCM EFLEX 5, BRIANS OPTIK 3, Vaughn SLR3, Bauer Mach. And some Warrior Ritual i think its G6.
Yeah and TRUE L20.2 but with bad zones (can't create Fleury, lines on the edges.)
So we need: True Catalyst, fix Zones on True L20.2., CCM Axis-2, Vaughn v10, CCM EFLEX 6
@KlariskraysNHLwhy not just sign him to a multi-year deal to have his masks in the game? Year-by-year makes no sense
Literally just give me a bunch of masks with a bunch of lines on them that I can colour in and I’ll be happy.
