Where's the new goalie gear, like True Catalyst? Sixteen goalies wear the Catalyst line; the second most out of anyone in the NHL. And the number will only rise from the ones transitioning over from L12.2 down the line.Can we get older gear that nobody uses deleted, like SLR1? These pads are from 2017. CCM E-Flex II is from 2015. Nobody wears either of those anymore. Vaughn V3 is from 2009; albeit you can use these for alumni goalies.Can we have some of the alumni goalies not be all black gear on default, because of some sort of glitch? Can you make their default gear brown, like they're supposed to be?I don't expect EA to get rights for the custom pads, but being TWO generations behind on E-Flex and TWO years behind on implementing SLR3 is appalling. That would be nice if they included some World of Chel NHL team designs as an option to put in the edit player options.I don't want to hear how the team only works on the game for three months. I don't wanna hear how they're a small group. I don't wanna hear how they work on EA UFC. EA is a billion dollar company, making millions off their ultimate team modes as a bonus. @TTZ_Dipsy "Maybe next year" is such a tired trope with sports game franchises— especially this company. It's not happening.

I'm annoyed there are no new masks in the game I really have to look at those ugly Avalanche masks for 10 years.New pads in game. CCM EFLEX 5, BRIANS OPTIK 3, Vaughn SLR3, Bauer Mach. And some Warrior Ritual i think its G6. Yeah and TRUE L20.2 but with bad zones (can't create Fleury, lines on the edges.)So we need: True Catalyst, fix Zones on True L20.2., CCM Axis-2, Vaughn v10, CCM EFLEX 6

@TTZ_DipsyNo; you get to be a billion company by making good games. EA NHL used to be that from the 90s-2014, but now it’s slipping. NHL 23 is essentially a patch for NHL 22. There’s no RoI when you already have the rights for the equipment for the game. Im over hoping they would do more with goalies and just want them to do it already.

That would be really sick. Even something as simple as choosing the base color, and then customizing the wires and adding logos around the helmet. Could be easy or more intricate

@Froommey They aren't gonna let us create our own masks for the most part because somehow we would abuse it and people wouldn't be happy with a limited amount of generic options.@MATTDALOR1AN Go look at FIFA selling like 8-10mil copies a year of pathes and making huge bank off Ultimate Team. And actually the equipment manufacturers do have the say in what of their products can be put into the game. Hell back in the day it took a bunch of work when they added Brodeur's goalie mask to the game because they had to pay person who designed it.Hell when it comes to custom stuff there is so much red tape of what you own/don't own it's unreal. 2K got sued by a tattoo artist for having his tattoo which is on the wrestler Randy Orton in real life but apparently they also needed the artists permission to have it in the video game.All the sports games are just a huge patch these days. You will see maybe something big every 4-5yrs. They have to charge the price because things like the NHL license alone cost like 3-4mil a year to use. Then add in the legends, other leagues, etc. It's why we pay an arm and a leg for what many consider a patch.I'm sure one of these days we will just get Madden, NHL, EA Soccer 4ever. And it will be some subscription based model where if we want to play a year we are still spending the same amount of money anyway.

Literally just give me a bunch of masks with a bunch of lines on them that I can colour in and I’ll be happy.

Last year the True L12.2 was the only new goalie equipment set patched in, correct? How many do we realistically think will get patched in this year? Gotta think at least 1 new CCM set cuz it’s inexcusable that we’re 2 EFlex iterations behind

There may be a good reason for that:

Their competition left the market completely in 2014. Knowing that, EA knew it had no competition and anyone who wanted an NHL game had to go though them. If another company started making NHL games, EA would lose tons of cash as they would be easily outperformed.

But you brought up a great point that I didn't discuss, @KlariskraysNHL.
DaveArt teased November 4, 2020 on social media that he's teaming up with EA Sports. It's been two years... are his masks coming in the game? That would be super beneficial to having nice looking aesthetics.
It's probably just the direction of the market. These companies know that it has very little advertising appeal but they can charge licensing fees to include their equipment because it means much more to EA to have it in the game than to them. EA isn't willing to pay for all those versions.

They pretty much create for EA to own the creations. That way it stays in game and get the community involved in the best way.
Morally a bad idea. You are asking for people to be low paid contractors for EA and most of them to put in the work for nothing - because their entry isn't accepted.

They either need to make it so you can upload all you want for offline use and require a whitelist request to use online or they need to pay employees or professional contractors to design them. But if EA is taking ownership of the art rather than letting it be uploaded by users (2K definitely had it in the past year's WWE title), then they need to pay people properly for it. I personally favor the open content solution and online players will just have to suck it up.

@Froommey But i dont know why because some new masks from other leagues looks epic some AHL teams, EXTRALIGA teams...

Actually, I was expecting national masks, since EA has cooperation with IIHF.

But I have no excuse for NHL team masks, especially on the oldest ones you can see a huge difference in quality. Less resolution, generic quality.

@trunkfuMaybe the developers do not realize that every Goalie has his own mask design ;-) we do not need special masks from a Designer, a simple mask creator where we can change color, Team logos, some graphics would be enough.
