@jcs8486 Lmao… first they take away the ability to edit everything about players… then they took away the ability to edit basic things about players ie play style, position, etc… now take away the ability to edit strategies? Downloaded the ea play trial just to see what the edit strategies were all about and i guess cause of your coach you can't edit your strats but that seems to defeat the purpose of editing lines all together since you ain't changing those for a quick play game

This plus the bug that even if u fire coach and hire someone with completely different tactics it still keeps using the original coaches tactics makes this a game breaking bug.PS. Fire Rammer, he has completely broken a good hockey game, year after year just going back, the dude clearly has 0% hockey knowledge and only thing he cares about is milking money from teens who play hut.As an offline player I feel r4ped by this years game, it will be the first I wont be buying and I have bought one every year since 95.

I honestly wouldn’t even be surprised if this wasn’t a bug but a planned removal…

I bought the game early just to be able to play franchise mode. And we cant change strategies!? What is this? Will refund game and go back to 2022.

Yeah this not being able to change strategies is bs. It wasn’t like this when the game first launched. It really needs to be fixed. Have no desire to play this p.o.s. game now. I’d like a refund too if they don’t change it back.
there is no way to contact ea about it either. What a joke.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen me and my spouse love nhl franchise mode! But not being able to edit strategies is dumb! What makes it dumber is they just give you a random coach! If your gonna take away are ability to change strategies unless we are in game atleast let us pick are coach from a pool of coaches or something like that! Every year they limit what you can do as a GM it’s upsetting specially me a die hard hockey fan! EA sports please go back to having the realistic GM like in 20 and 22 it sets nhl games apart from all other sports games

@RumOak163 Yup we are locked out of it… EA Aljo claims that the reason we cannot set strategies is because we aren’t the head coach…

Which is weird because we can set the line ups, which is a head coaches job..

We can set hot dog prices and maintain the bathrooms which also isn’t a general managers job..

Pretty sure that it’s just an excuse because EA has broken the strategies/coach system somehow, and doesn’t know how to fix it…

The fact that head coaches strategies are broken as well kind of makes sense that they don’t know how to fix it… especially since they released a patch that said fixed it, but it didn’t fix it at all.

My brother is still having all these issues… he says it’s so broken and unplayable…

EA's approach when it comes to coaches in Franchise mode is just a bad one...
Instead of having coaches running specific strategies, locking us out as a GM in the way WE want to run things, they should've have approached it just like they did for the players; with each coach having a set of ratings (ie. 80 Behind the Net, 70 Overload, 60 Crash the Net, etc...) and now, it's up to you as a GM to say "look, I want this line to play that way...and I'm gonna find the best coach for that". From there, coaches ratings could affect chemistry (ie. a coach with 100 rating in a specific strategy could top the chemistry bonus to a +5, 90 tops it at a +4,, 80 at a +3, and so on...). Now you have a valid coach input in the game, you allow GM to run things the way they want (edit strategy to their liking), and everybody's happy.
