There was nothing in the update that would affect pings. The ping meter was fixed so it was accurate. It was showing a lower ping by mistake. Outside of that, nothing would have affected connections. We can go through some connection troubleshooting if you like. Otherwise, I'd recommend trying our Twitter and/or Facebook support.

@EA_Aljo Why should I go to social media when EA is a billion dollar company with a website that already has a dedicated help section and service advisors (or at least used to)???
Facebook and Twitter can't file a case and they're not obligated to provide your customer service
Apparently ping is still broken then because before it was "fixed" I was at 18ms. Afterwards usually 50ms and now Im at 22
I've gone through troubleshooting hundreds of times. I've hardwired and disabled wifi, it's still the same intermittent problems people have been complaining about for years and that people far smarter with network connection than I have traced using hundreds of dollars of equipment they should never have had to buy
People are saying there was a Central server that was activated and then removed, and that would make a ton of sense because now I'm playing against MTL people in about 85% of my games. We can only make these educated guesses because despite all the lip service about transparency and communication, you guys refuse to tell us things, you refuse to provide relevant details, and you refuse to cooperate with the player community to address our longstanding issues. I wish I could say it's the same story every year but it's not, it gets worse and worse and worse despite promises that it will improve.- EA_Aljo3 years ago

Our Facebook and Twitter support work for EA and have access to our case system.
We'll watch for others that have sudden drops in ping and get them reported if we start seeing more of them.
We have a central server and it's still active.
We are always listening to feedback from the community. Some of is acted on, but obviously, not everything makes it into the game.

How do you access them?
What are their handles?
How do you get their attention?
Who do you speak to if you can't get a reply?
Why isn't all of this listed clearly on the Help pages?
How exactly do you "watch for others that have sudden ping drops"?
Wouldn't it make sense to provide a centralized location for those experiencing such things to provide their information and generate a report?
