@PESKYHANS I would give just about anything to consistently enjoy these games without these issues the way people like you describe. I'm very familiar with how real hockey works and I'd love to be able to play it on this game.
The most maddening part is that these issues are intermittent and you can "feel" when it's happening but there's no rhyme or reason to why.
I'm not even using WiFi, I hard wire and literally disable my routers WiFi at times to try and eliminate any extra network bogdown.
It's crazy, it's like the buttons only register when and how they want to, I bought a new controller right at launch, it's always plugged in. Passing especially, in a game that relies on gaining time and space I'm trying to make quick decisions and its like theres a delay between hitting the button and the game getting the message and it results in a pass that goes somewhere else (often conveniently to an open opponent or way up ice for an icing), and that's if it registers at all, often it takes multiple presses to send it and that was awful last year with the powered pass system. And now I'm noticing times where a pass will send but my player switching won't actually engage. Or player switching on the defensive side, trying to defend a simple 2 on 2 zone entry in Champs last night and it switches me to a forward up ice and then the defender i wanted and was aiming for just shuffles out of the way for the opposition to perform an easy backhand-forehand-raise hand... I'm aware of the R3 thing but why would the game select someone far from the play where I wasn't my aiming. That player switch works 95% of the time exactly as I executed it but then stuff like that happens that just leaves you flabbergasted.
I've gotten interference penalties with my controlled player despite literally having my thumb off the right stick, not touching it at all. The forum managers here always ask for video, so I need a thumb-cam angle as well??
And I keep hearing how poke check is so overpowered, that's news to me because if I don't aim it it usually goes sideways or finds a way to hit the opponents feet instead of autodirected to the puck as claimed. I utilize the DSS and its very effective when it actually works but at times its a chore just to get it to cooperate too. I wish I had an explanation for why that would be, believe me I've asked here countless times and its just a waste of time
