How could this still be happening ??

I play the game from the 90s. Started on sega but what is happening through the last 3 generations is unacceptable. Same mistakes over and over. Balancing the lower level players and players from sca...

    @matokrajcirik This game is all about input.

    I am a Div2 player as well and I can also dominate some games and lose, and there is nothing more frustrating than losing games repeatedly because of bad luck on your side VS insane luck for your opponent.

    But to be fair to the game, if you win 5-3 despite the issues, you won't notice them as much, but they are still there.

    The opponent goalie making insane saves in fine, as long as it's not 100% of the time one sided. Same with passing or shooting being off or players stuck in mud.

    Here's the bottom line.

    I win between 11 and 14 wins in Hut champs and stay close to Div 1 border and then slide back on the snake's back as soon as I come too close to Div1 gauntlet games.

    I took my PS5 during holiday's vacation where the connection was very average. Won 9 games with tons of luck and lost 75% of my Rival games where all of the known issues were everywhere and all the time.

    The quality of the internet connection matters a lot and you can also try to connect your controller with the USB cable and see if there's a difference for you.

A lot of us have been playing this game for a few generations, you need to accept the game and understand the business perspective a bit. there is a generation who completely understand the software engineering aspect and will completely dominate your 90+ overall team with 82s. happens frequently, suck it up. then theres the newbies the come in with 90 pluses and expect to win with 90s, ya not happening. 

the game is meant to keep as many people playing as possible. if you have been been playing this since sega like myself, we play a little a simpler then the new gen, without getting into specifics, work on your defending, AI is really bad this year and dont know when you full send the defender when everyone is using speedy wingers and rushing the wing button hooks... 

sounds like you're born in the 80s like myself, we have to suck it up take it as it is or move on.

Remember, they have to defend the game, they will never put it down.

And yes its a game. for some its different.

After a number of years I have finally accepted the fact that when you are experiencing these type of games - it is a network issue where your opponent has a better connection than you. If you notice that your AI players are rarely poke checking, intercepting passes or making any attempt to play defense while the opposing teams AI is actively poke checking and intercepting passes and/or at least making an attempt to do what they are supposed to in addition to their goalie making insane saves galore, chances are you are victim to a connection mismatch. Even if you have 20 ping - if your opponent has 5 or 10 it will get them an unintended advantage. It's why even if your team is vastly better than the other team - your team will play like they are stuck in mud and see players in the mid-80's on the other team skating around your 90+ overall players with ease. It's frustrating but there isn't any other reason for this to happen especially since EA has confirmed time and time again there is no leveling system or randomizing of players attributes. 

I can tell very quickly these days if I am on the winning side of having a better connection and feel bad for the other person. If I am a victim to a connection mismatch I will quit if it is too much to overcome and cross my fingers for the next matchup where not only is me and the other person on the same skill level, but have similarly rated teams and we both have similar connections. That type of game is hard to find - on a good day it has a 20% chance of happening.

    @misterflugietime 

    AI players don't poke check in HUT. They also don't hit or stick lift. These can only be done manually. If you can get video showing what you're experiencing, that will help understand what's going on. Connection type doesn't really determine how AI players behave. A bad connection will cause input delay though and that obviously will make a difference in the player you're controlling behaves.

        It looks like the goalie swept the puck in to his own net. Unfortunate for sure. I really hope we see less of these in the future.

        @monz 

        AI players will not perform defensive actions in Rivals and HUT Champs. If you see this happen, please get some video so I can let the team know.

        Also, I'm not sure if you were talking about an in-game momentum mechanic other than the speed at which your players are skating. I just want to be clear that this is not in the game. There is nothing that will boost "momentum" for a team. The physical momentum of the rate a player is moving obviously is a part of the game.

        One more thing, sliders only affect offline modes. Play Now (offline), Franchise and Be A Pro.

        For videos, just upload them to a service like YouTube and then delete them off your console. They really are they best way to let us know what you're experiencing.

      @EA_Aljo AI does actually perform pokes, hits etc this year. It was implemented in order to stop skill zoning I believe. Typically you will see this in the team with their forecheck slider set the higher of the 2 teams playing (if you find your AI taking alot of penalties, try lowering your slider a notch to the left. See if you notice a difference).

      This is why you see people complaining about AI taking penalties. Personally, I think the devs nailed it this year. On ice play has been drasticly improved with this coupled with the ragger slow down in there own zone.

        Ya, i've had the AI take a few tripping penalties. No, I don't have any video. If I had to take video of every issue I wouldnt have any place left on my hard drive to play the game. Maybe at this time is a good idea. the last week or so the gameplay has been horrid, i'm being outskated 9/10 games. i swear synergies work against me.
